Weathershield, has anyone heard of it?

I picked up my new BMW X-3 a week ago, and they put a teflon product called Weathershield on the paint. Has anyone heard of it? Can I clay, polish and wax over it? Should I take it off first? if so, how?

Surprisingly, the paint looks good with no swirl marks and only a few water spots. Hopefully I can get these off when I detail it this weekend.

Only Weathershield I know of is a car cover.

I would be highly suspicous of any treatment containing Teflon. Teflon is only effective at very high temps like 500 degrees F. More often than note promoting Teflon in a car product is a pure gimmick. Hope you didn't pay through the nose for it

Any quality sealant discussed on this site will produce the same if not better results

No, I did not pay for this. They put it on prior to delivering the car. I did not know they were going to put anything on the paint. It looks ok, doesn't bead up very good.

I am very happy to hear that! Some dealers charge like $500 for stuff like that ! :scared:

Something like a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water, if not, Klean-Strp Prep All ( at AutoZone or Walmart) should do it.
