We Need a Detailer's Creed

Amidst my additional layers of AW last night after a wash, a feeling of inspiration :think2 evolved:

The Detailer's Creed

Tack on your additional creed/credo/detailing-rule-to-live-by if you wish!

1. I will wash my car weekly or more frequently and ignore silly looks from those who don't understand.

2. I will enjoy the fingertip test of checking the gazillion layers of gloss on my autos

3. I will sneak into the garage when necessary to add that 1 additional coat of LSP, ensuring that bugs have no chance in Hades of climbing up the hood because of the slickness

4. I will drink cold beverages and stand back in awe at my progress, or lack thereof

5. I will park in the furthest location of a parking lot to insurance no dings/dents by unappreciative drivers

6. I will buy far more detailing product than I really need, thinking the latest thing will have the best gloss EVER TO DATE AND LAST LONGER THAN ALL THE OTHERS

7. I will encourage others to use a foam gun to see how much fun/efficiency can be achieved with washing a car

Okay....I'm tapped out.....please add more....

Digidan :getdown

Hm...

8. I will always compare my water beading to that of other cars and take pride in my perfect beads

9. I will drag my hands across freshly clayed/waxed paint to feel the smoothness

Hope this thread expands :) Got some pretty good stuff here :woot2:

11. I will explain to others that having clearcoat doesn't mean you don't wax the car

13. On the day of delivery of detail supplies it's ok to check the order status a couple hundred times until you smell all the products

14. I will admit that all I really need is a small house with a large garage attached for all my toys and detailing supplies!

17. I will drive 5 miles out of my way to avoid road construction that can cause my vehicle to get dirty.

18. I will promise not to drool with envy when I see a car detailed better than my own.

19. I will pay attention when I am driving.. looking at the road instead of rotary holograms and swirl marks on other vehicles.

20. I will weep for the paint finishes being marred whenever I see a charity car wash.

21. I will take pictures of my finely detailed machines to illustrate how much I care about their appearance.

22. I will play music via radio/iPod/computer to enhance my detailing experiences

23. My garage will be my haven. It will say "this is who I am". It will have shelves of stuff here and there, plenty of detailing supplies, and may or may not be chaotic, depending on the day.

24. I will try my best to immediately toss old apple cores/garbage into their proper containers OUTSIDE of my car and not on the floormats.

25. I might start referring to my auto in the 3rd person, like "the Honda was really happy that I put that last coat of spray on the hood"

26. I will continue to use/purchase more detailing products in hopes of finding the deepest, most perfect shine when I am done. NO MATTER how many times my girlfriend bitches about me spending more time with my vehicle than her!

27. I will always remember that it is impossible to have too many microfiber towels and/or washmitts.

28. I will try to limit my Autopia roaming to just 100 hours per week.

29. I will pick where I sit in a restaraunt based on where I can get the best line-of-sight to stare out the window adoringly at my finely detailed auto.......

30. I will tell myself that even though my wallet is (considerably) lighter, I'm using the best of the best for my shiny shiny car.

31. I will yell at people that bring food inside the car and start dropping it all over the floor mats.
