Wax Recommendation for White

I have a White Car (Photos) and would like to get a wax that will really make look nice...

My plan is to apply Menzerna Power Lock polymer sealant about every 6 months (with a complete polishing beforehand). Applying wax every 3-4 weeks.

Any recommendations for a wax to use? Would like to stay below or at the $50 range.

Megs #16 is nice on white, so is IW845, but both would negate the need for any other sealant. S100 looks good on white too.

I've never cared for how carnubas made any of my white cars look. I would just stick with a sealant and use a spray sealant/instant detailer to boost the durability and shine.

My personal preference on my white car is OPS topped with OOS and maintained with OID after every wash. It is very sharp and reflective.

There are so many waxes and sealants out there though, that the only way to find out what you like is to get a few different ones and try them out for yourself.

I use Poli-Seal about every 3mo. and NXT spray wax(purple bottle) once a wk. I use a finishing pad on my PC and spray the pad no more than 2x. I had given up on NXT spray because it was hard to apply by hand but w/the PC it really gives the paint a boost.

I like Pinnacle Paste Glaz (discontinued I believe) and Pinnacle Signature Series II on white. I am still formulating my opinions on Autoglym HD Wax on white. Wolfgang Fuzion also looked nice on white, however I don't think it fits within your price criteria.

I don't use a sealant...sort of a carnuba purist. I use One Grand Blitz wax on my white Honda and like the look. Top it off with Meg's Ultimate Quick Detail and you're good to go.

Collinite 845

I actually have some of this in the Garage, havent tried it yet. Think I will start with this then move to some of the other recommendation.

Instead of starting a new thread I have a few other questiosn;

1. Thinking of getting a paint cleaner, which I would use this after polishing and IPA wipe-down. Any thoughts on P21S Paintwork Cleanser?

2. To make sure the car is really clean prior to starting claying I am thinking of spraying diluted (1:1?) P21S Total Auto Wash onto the paint (after a regular washing), then rinse off. Good idea? This would be instead of using some dish washing soap.

3. Any suggestions on a general washing soap? I am nearing then end of my Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner bottle (which I can get easily at the local wall-mart/Canadian tire). Stick with the Meguiar's or get something new?

If its a wax your going after then i'll agree with a few others, Megs #16. IMO if you using a good sealant on a white car topping it with wax won't offer much of a difference in look.

The P21s GEPC is like a combo paint cleaner and glaze; it leaves some stuff behind. I didn't care for it and I wouldn't bother doing both IPAing and GEPCing. But hey, other people like it a lot better than I do. I just don't see it adding much, if anything, to a well-polished white paint.

Much as I like TAW, I don't think you need to do that either. I'd do a conventional wash with a strong shampoo mix, then a Dawn/etc. wash if you really want to do something like that, and then clay.

I sorta get the impression you're leaning towards making this whole projecdt more complicated than it needs to be ;) One of the nice things about white is that you *don't* have to get fancy for it to look as nice as it's gonna.

What I like probably isn't down your alley: I use Griot's Car Wash exclusively as I've never found anything else that's as good. For local/OTC shampoo, the Gold Class is OK. But maybe you could find some DuraGloss shampoo locally, I think that'd be a little better.

I'm a broken record on this one but...I use P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion followed by Collinite 915 (845 is good too and a little easier to use). Or if you prefer a sealant...I've had excellent (excellent) results with Zaino PC Fusion followed by Z2 + ZFX. Both of these are great choices IMO.
