Wax longivity vs car wash?

If i wash my car at least ones a month, does it matter to have a waxing product that last more than that? I mean, washing the car will remove the waxing compound (i think). Please need clarification.

I' m browsing for a new waxing product right now (used Carnauba wax for a while, didn't last long (2 weeks).

Thanks, newbie.

Try Klasse. Its more durable than carnuaba and you can put carnuaba over it as a topper.

Klasse??? it is available in Canada (Quebec), never heard of it, but thanks.

I was thinking of going with a good long lasting wax (ex Zaino) for the seasons. Do you guys (or ladies) like better natural carnauba or polymer wax against rain.

Am i on the right track

I will check out for this product (Klasse) at Canadian Tire or a car shop, what about the price vs Zaino? and it is a carnauba base or what??

thks.

It depends what Zaino products you buy. Some basic Zaino products for the exterior is either Z1 or ZFX, then Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7.

Klasse can be cheaper than Zaino.

Klasse and Zaino are Sealants and as Pats300zx said, you can put a carnuba on top of it. S100/P21s is pretty common. Klasse or Zaino will last longer (than a carnuba) and sounds like something you're looking for. Keep in mind, these two products require more time and prep.

Check out the Hall of Fame forum for tips and tricks on application of both.

A couple of links for you.

I'm not sure as to the availability of these products for Canada, but a lot of your fellow Canadians are floating around here, so they can probably help you out.

You may want to look into Clay and Polishing as well in the "Learn" section at the top of this page.

Good Luck and Welcome to Autopia :wavey

In regards to your original post, your car washing should not remove the wax. If it does, you need a new car wash shampoo. Also, there are carnauba waxes that last a month or two. If you want something you can buy locally, maybe you should check out Meguiar's #20.

You all gave me good choices (Zaino, Klasse, Meguiars #20), i noticed that they are polymers, good, that is what i was looking for longivity. I will check on what is available in Quebec, canada. and best price.

Hi BlueShark, welcome to Autopia. :wavey

As said, you won't find much of the "good stuff" at Canadian Tire. Klasse is simply not available, so Zaino would be a good option for you since there is an online seller http://www.zaino.ca/ or you may be able to find it locally as well. You could also just mail order stuff from the US as well. ;)

If you don't want to go with Zaino, #20 is supposed to last fairly long, and their #26 (paste) wax or Collinite waxes are good "regular" carnauba waxes that have reputations for high durability as well.

Be sure to prepare the surface well by claying and polishing before applying the sealant/wax. A properly prepped surface usually helps the protection to "stick" better. This is especially important if you go with something like Zaino, since it does not come with any preparation products (ie, pre-cleaners, polish, whatever).

Usually car shampoos don't hurt the wax coat too much, but if it does try using less soap or switch brands. Also keep in mind some shampoos are actually supposed to create a sheeting action... I usually go by a combination of both slickness (dry) and beading to judge if something is truly gone and needs reapplication.

So much of good infos, thank you all. I will ask some detailling shops for Klasse's or Zaino stuffs and maybe to order it for me. Those stuffs are always good for winter protection in Quebec... I will use carnauba wax to extra shine ones a while.
