I`ve been watching Gary Dean`s videos lately (be safe during Irma BTW). Leaning towards making the plunge into some of his product (it is a bit pricey, but I think the value is there - FR is really tempting). His rinseless wash method inspired me to try my own spin, waterless washing use air to appy the product. I saw the preview of his new
Subject vehicle - my daily BMW 335i x driv
e 2010, 86000 miles (Previous owner lived on a gravel road and drove through lots of construction - the front is severely chipped and pitted). Relatively clean, did get rained on. Some spots and rear quarters/back were dirty. The waterless wash through gun took care of any major dirt on the car, there was minimal resistance on the towel. I went over the car with a dry waterless wash towel to dry (no drying aids). Finish is really smooth and now the garage smells like a pina colada.
Products:
Waterless Wash - McKee`s waterless mixed to their recommended ratio 16:1
Towels - GG Waterless Wash Towels
Hyper Dressing on the tires
Application - Harbor Freight Automotive Siphon Feed Air Spray Gun
Used a little less than 1/2 gallon of product - some of it was dialing in the gun.
Don`t have any before shots, but I`m happy with the results. If/when I go with a rinseless wash, I think the same amount of product would be used, less in the gun and more in a bucket. Also need to get some more waterless towels - could have used more than 3.
Some pictures of the setup and results.
