I detailed my truck and Scottwax the Mustang this weekend and in the process we dirtied up some MF towels and two foam PC applicator pads from Griots, and orange and a red..

So, do I wash the pads with the towels? If yes, then do the pads need to come out before the spin cycle?

What exactly do you guys do?

:nixweiss

Need some advise... thanks Dana

I'd wash the pads by hand and let them air dry. The mf towels I just throw in the wash by themselves or with other stuff I know doesn't lint.

I'm no expert, but I wash all my PC pads/bonnets by hand and then lay them out to dry. I wash my MF towels in the washing machine (alone, and on warm water) and then line-dry them.

Never any problems.

The wife used to squawk about my "frequent small loads" in the washing machine.....

.............then she remembered that I keep her Infinity clean. :D

I Got Lazy Once And Threw My Pads In the Wash...The Velcro Backing Was Never the Same After That.

It Slowly Peeled Away From The Pad. And Didnt Last Near As Long As My Non-Machine Washed Pads.

If I were to wash the pads in the washing machine, I would stick them in one of those net bags with a draw string. They are designed to keep delicates from getting stretched out of shape in the washing machine.

I take the pad off the PC and hold it in my hand while shooting water on it through the hose. It just peels the crud off the pad. Then I squeeze out the water and do it again until it drips clean water. Then I put it back on the PC and set it for 4 or 5 and spin the water out of it. Viola! Clean PC pads.

I wash all my MFs together in one load. Never dry them with a dryer sheet is all I can tell you. Other than that I’ve never had a problem washing them that way. I used to wash them by hand in the sink before I had so many and ended up thowing them in the dirty towel bag after a couple uses. When you have enough towels to keep them fresh then I say do it. I do a load of towels once a week in the summer. Its about time for me to do a load in fact…

dboat- For the PC, I probably use Griot's pads more than any other brand :xyxthumbs . I wash mine (for wax/polish/anything) by hand using Dawn. This DOES require a LOT of rinsing, but they seem to come out nice and clean. The velcro and its adhesive on these pads hold up well so I don't hesitate to really wring them out (by hand). I air-dry mine, but I'd be surprised if a (very)low dryer temp damaged them any. I used to spin them dry on the PC but every now and then one would take off and land in something nasty.
