What's the best way to wash microfiber towels and applicators so I can safely re-use them again? Throw them in the machine with my clothes, wash them by hand (any tips? procedures?) or?

Thanks in advance :yay

Wash them with other microfiber towels. You can use any fabric detergent but make sure they contain no fabric softeners. Use warm water to wash in the machine. If you don't have enough towels for a washing machine... buy more :).

I'm sure that you can wash them by hand but again, no fabric softeners and be sure to rinse out all soap residue.

To dry, throw them into the dryer for 15-20 mins. Any longer will work but the towels will contain a lot of static.

So it isn't a good idea to wash the microfiber towels with clothes as they will most likely pick up dirt/grit from the other clothes?

Is the dryer/static needed to improve the performance of the towels?

Correct, microfiber with microfiber only. They will indeed pick up lint and other 'junk' from clothes. No dryer sheets because they will probably clog the fibers on the towel which would ultimetly render them useless.

You could dry them completely in the dryer if you don't mind the towels sticking together but you could also take them out earlier and let them air dry.

Basically the microfiber fibers are very very small and you want to do everything you can to get them cleaned and keep them that way. Adding fabric softener, lint, dryer sheets, etc. will clog these fine fibers which in turn will result in a towel that doesn't perform to its fullest potential or may even ruin it.

I usually wash them with regular detergent (or better yet use microrestore). It is imperative NOT to wash them with other types of laundry. They can pick up too much lint, etc.. MF with MF only. Then I throw them in the dryer with dryer balls (NO fabric softeners) so they are nice and fluffy. Sometimes I will air dry them also. Both drying methods work fine.

My Process:
1. Soak in bucket of hot water and Dawn Dishwashing Soap. (Disolves waxes, oils, etc and keeps washing machine cleaner)
2. Wash in machine with Hot water and warm or cold rinse using "All Free and Clear" or product designed for MF towels (I cannot see a difference between either)
3. Dry on a low temperature setting in the dryer
The MF towels come out like new every time ... most of my towels have been washed at least twenty times.
