Washing and wet shoes

Does anyone wear rain boots while washing there car(s) to avoid getting wet shoes?

Or do you just tough it out and put up with a little dampness while you wash.....or, do you seriously try to avoid getting your shoes wet ....

I have a spare pair of sneakers that I only use to wash the car. they get soaked (and so do my feet). Then I just change into another pair when I'm done.

I have a really beat up pair of shoes that I wear. So I dont care if they get wet. If I am wearing nice shoes, I try to keep them dry through.

Recently ive been wearing sandals/flip flops

The wife bought me these last year for my birthday. They work pretty well. They are especially comfy when washing the car in the winter when the water starts getting pretty cold.

I have an old pair of sneakers relegated wearing when washing cars, mowing the lawn, etc.

when the colder weather comes, I have an old pair of fireboots that I wear to keep my feet dry.

I'm a big fan of rugged sandles like this Teva pictured below. It's secure, your feet is strapped in, and water drains out easily. Also, I make sure to never have anything metallic on my person so as not to scratch the car. No belts, buckles, metal buttons, etc. Sweatpants or drawstring pants/shorts will do just fine.

I'm tired of having soggy shoes for a day after washing a car so I am going to retire my current pair of running shoes to car wash duty pretty soon.

I have an old pair of shoes that I wear when I'm washing the car, or when I'm doing anything that would make my shoes dirty--fishing, kayaking, etc...

I use LL Bean duck boots but they are not very efficent in the winter so I am looking to get a pair of waterproof boots with Thinsulate

The old shoes or sneakers did a poor job repelling water, it was guaranteed I had soaking wet feet in the end so when it is too cold to wash wearing sandals I recently started wearing the duck shoes, no more wet feet

I use canvas deck shoes. They dry out fast.

Also I keep a few clean plastic grocery bags handy. If I need to move the car during/after washing, I slip the bags over my shoes to keep the interior clean, then just toss out the bags. Same for walking indoors after washing.

The only thing abot duck boots(gumshoes) is that in the winter if they are not insulated they kind of act like an, what is the word? well thay make your feet cold because of the rubber.

Hmm...you guys just reminded me that I have some boots I use on our boat in the winter. They're pretty well water proof up to the ankle.
