Wash mitt maintenance...

I have a couple of lambs wool mitts...after I clean them, do you let them air dry (and harden) or do you keep them damp in a baggie like you would a chamois?

If you let them air dry and they get stiff, simply reintroducing them to water should soften it up again. I have heard people who store theirs damp.

Being hide based, I'm a little worried about it rotting. However, they never go more than a week without use, so...
For long term storage, I'll dry 'em I guess...

I air dry mine and have never found them to be "hard".
The hide itself may become stiff but the "fur (for lack of a better term) has always been soft.

When I used them, I would gently wring them out and let them air dry. I never had any problems with them rotting.
