Wash brush and Black BMW

Ronkh

Wax Waster
As some of you know, I buy lots of stuff.......

That being said, a while back I bought a wash brush. Either horse hair or boars hair. (forgot). It's supposed to be "fantastic" for all clearcoat surfaces.....

Do I dare try it on my Black Bimmer? :help:

Having second thoughts.

But my car is starting to look like crap, so it'll be a datail party at my place soon.

I have never used one and have only seen what the ones in the coin op washed can do to cars. Have you run out of wash mits or sponges? Personally I wouldn't try it, not on that car atleast.

This is no coin op brush. (damn thing was like 50-75 dollars)

They way I figure it, you and I (and Pat if he's mobile) can fix whatever I screw up. :notme:

Flex/PC party at my house.

Why not wash one panel with the brush and use your regular wash process on the rest of the car?
If you don't see any marring: :bigups :bigups :bigups
If you do see any marring:  :wall

At least you would only have to correct any damage on the one panel.

Yes, Charles is very reasonable. It sounds like good advice. I have a boar's hair brush but I only use in on lower rocker panels, wheel wells, grills under bumper, rims and the like. It does a great job and I don't think it would damage the finish but I'm a creature of habit and always go back to either a wool mitt or natural sea sponge. Yeah, yeah, I know I'll catch grief for the sea sponge but I've used one for a long time and feel it is literally the best tool for the job. I'm getting a little off topic here. Sorry.

I have a boars hair brush that I have used on black cars..I use it only for SUV's and the likes of places that I can't reach...I have not noticed any more marring that I have seen with my lambs wool mitt...I"m along with Charles on this one...one panel as a trail and see what comes of it

That makes too mch sense.
Lets try it a different way.

I have always wondered about these boars hair brushes. Be sure to let us know the results. I personally have been to scared to try one considering the cost of them.
