wanting to finalize everything, where do i get paperwork done?

i want to finalize everything now with my private detailing business. ive been doing few cars lately and i have started to get more interested and want to pickup on it. what do i need to have done to legalize everything and where would i get this done at. i live in keller tx which is in DFW. any help would be helpful

At the top of your list should be getting a Home Occupation license and insurance. Beyond that, you need to decide if you're going to incorporate (LLC, etc.) or run it as a Sole-Proprietorship. The later, most likely. A CPA advised me that a checking account is all that is really needed to keep track of your books. It makes sense. Deposits to the account are your sales and debits are your expenses. If you need to get more involved QuickBooks Simple Start is a great way to go.
