The owner took them off for the detail, and they didn't get put back on till the owner returned. They were black like the rest of the mouldings .

clean but why keep the "Porsche" on the calipers?

its not a Porsche, IMO he should have either taken the lettering off all together

or put something else, more specific to the VW

nice detail btw

bling factor? why not leave them on after you spend the money for 14.1" brakes with Porsche Calipers.

because its NOT a Porsche. Its different if you put Cobra calipers on a GT or something.

But an entirely different car, sorry just not my cup of tea.

To each his own.

It's usual in the VW scene to fit Porsche brakes as they gather some Kudos amongst the VW fraternity.....I should know I have just put the same brakes to fit on my Audi...

And what about the Audi RS2 for instance came with Porsche brakes out of the Factory, PORSCHE script on the calipers as well, and that was an Audi...

Loving the car GT Paul, very very nice indeed....

Great work! Sweet Jetta.

VW is the parent company of Porsche. So, no the VW is not a Porsche, but they share some mechanical components.

As Dubbedup said the Audi RS2 also had a Porsche modified engine that had Porsche script on it.

It's pretty common to mix parts from all German manufactures, many guys run Porsche brakes, or wheels. Audi and M. Benz wheels are also popular.

I run Audi wheels (with Audi centercaps) on my VW Rabbit.

Beautiful car, is the owner on VWVortex? I'm not up on the MKIV?

Did he take the door handles off so you couldn't drive the car while he was gone? hehehe.

Nice detail!

You can still open up the doors :-), owner is one of the nicest guys around.

I'm sure he's on VWVortex under the name JETTSET.
