Volkswagen/Audi owners: What wax do you use?

I used Meg's #26 on my Volkswagen and it left an uneven cloudy finish. I was reading over on vwenthusiast and the favorite seems to be blitz. I was just wondering what the concensus over here was? I was thinking of going with some p21s.... any thoughts?

I used P21S on a black Cabrio and the results were amazing. I will post pics once I get home tomorrow.

I have also used Blackfire on a black Bug and the results were comparable to the P21S, but with more of a slick/high gloss finish.

I waxed a Silver Audi A8 with Zymol Carbon because it was the only "high end" wax I had with me at the time, and the finished product looked nice.. but nothing to write home about.

VW has great paint though. I don't see why you were getting streaks with #26... as I have never had this problem. It may be more your application techniques than the product itself.

Be sure you are putting a very thin layer, more will not work any better. Use a moist applicator to apply, and buff with a MF towel. Use some QD if the product is still streaking.

Hope this helps. :xyxthumbs

I have a black Passat and use Klasse AIO and SG, and top with P21S carnauba. I can't imagine anything looking better!

Silver GTI here.

I use Zaino. No wax for me.

If I was going to use a wax it would be S100 or P21s (same product).

Souveran is my favorite.certainly not the price/performance leader, but i perfer it to S100 or Blitz and it does seem to last a long time(many coats last summer lots left.

Read my signature:cool:

Try IHG and Blitz but I prefer Klasse AIO, SG and Pinnacle Paste Glaz for my silver Passat.:xyxthumbs

Thanks guys,

From what I'm hearing this is pretty common for German finishes and #26. Check out what car car online has to say about it. I think I'm going to try P21S or S100. Might not last as long but atleast it won't cload up my paint. Maybe I'll go over to the dark side (synthetic polymers or acrylics) ;) .

You use PPG over AIO and SG? I'm not fimiliar with ppg but will it last being applied as the last layer? If it does maybe i will try that. Thanks agian!

BIGkev1001,

Yes, Pinnacle Paste Glaz is a carnauba wax. It lasts 4-6 weeks but is so easy to apply (not much more time that using a quick detail spray) that I add a coat monthly. I use it as a topper after I am satisfied with the Klasse SG layers (3 in my case). Once you put the carnauba topper you cannot add more Klasse SG on top of this. Since I had PPG already, I have been using it as a topper, I'm sure S100 or P21S would look awesome on top of AIO and SG as well.

The reason for the carnauba topper in my case is that on my silver car, the Klasse gives it a glass like shine, the PPG just makes the paint really glow with the warmth of a carnauba wax. The combo looks incredible IMO.

I am just wondering if you had clouding from #26, if the product have gone-off in some way or you have some contamination on the paint or foam pads.

I spend a lot of time over at clubb5.com and quite a few rave about Einszett products. I just ordered some before Christmas but haven't received them yet so I can't give any first-hand input.

If I remember correctly, PPG is even easier to use than Souveran and P21S (it smells much better than both also!). However, it's been a while since I've used it and was my first experience with one of the Pinnacle waxes. Perhaps it was the shock of using such a user-friendly wax for the first time that's made a stronger impression on me than Souveran and P21S.

Last year about this time, I got a great deal on ebay on the Pinnacle Sizzling Shine Kit with that Koala towel that I never liked. It was before they released the improved formulas of Bodywork Shampoo and Paintwork Cleansing Lotion and it was a great buy- soI have been using the PPG for now.

I use Klasse AIO and SG and P21S GEPC and Carnuba Paste on my A4...it turned out great. Gonna give the Passat the same treatment next weekend. FYI, Klasse is imported from Germany, however I doubt that has anything to do with the way it looks on German cars...not to mention all cars. Great stuff :xyxthumbs

Honestly, after using all three, the ease of use is interchangable. All of them literally wipe on and off with no effort.

S100/P21S looks better on metallics and pearls, Paste Glaz looks great on whites and silvers (so does S100/P21S) while Souveran holds a very small edge on black-seems a tad deeper than Paste Glaz or S100/P21S, but not enough for me to pay $55 more!
