CharlesW's laptop thread prompted me to query the membership's computer experiences further.
I am on the verge of replacing my home system. I am more than likely looking to a "desktop" since I don't forsee the need for mobility and therefore don't want to pay the premium for a laptop. But that is not why I've asked you here. I am looking at o/s. I am currently running MS XP which has not presented any problems for my needs which consist maintly of MS Office apps and internet surfing. My concern is Vista and all the complaints which seem to be made about the problems. Now I understand that there are natural biases against the giant MS so I can probably discount a certain percentage of those complaints but I have to consider that some of the complaints are legitimate. Therefore up to this point I have been considering...yes, the iMac. Cost wise, there is a slight premium over a comparable Dell, but the reported stability of Leopard might make it worth the extra few dollars. From what I've read, there is a compatible MS Office product available.
Any Mac users out there running MS Office? What has been your experience? Does it play well with Leopard?
Vista users, are the problems greatly exaggerated?
