This detail came to me through a referal, so after scheduling a date to look and give a quote on a full paint correction or a Wash,Wax and Interior job, when I first saw this SUV my words were...(to myself) wow.....it needs help big time, certainly could tell it had been neglected, abused and probaly cursed at, allot of really bad, deep scratches and dents and dings you name it and this Xterra had it and that was just the Exterior....once I looked inside I knew that this would be a all day event (see interior before pics) so I gave her two prices, set the expectations on doing just the Wash,Wax and Interior and educated her on a Full Detail.....
She told me she really wanted the Full Detail but really couldn't even afford to do the Wash and Wax detail, she is a single mom raising a child and living in a apartment.
Well, that really hit me that she is struggling (belive me I am not a sucker for the Ol make me feel bad routine) she was genuine.....so I wanted to make her day...told her I would do it (Full Detail) at the cost of a Wash,Wax and Interior Job....plus do some extras....so the deal was made !!
Now onto the detail pics, process and products used..

Great job! That was really nice of you to do a full detail for her too. I'm a sucker for sad stories and I usually try to help people out. Sometimes I get taken advantage of but I've learned to tell when someone is sincere. I still rather get taken advantage of once of twice than never help anyone out.

What was on the plastic grill trim? Was that just dirt or oxidation?

It must have been Oxidation...nver seen a grill do that before, it kinda look like Mildew, had a greenish tint to it.

I respect any that are willing to simply detail out of compassion, its speaks highly of you and your business model.

Mom-mobiles are always all day events and you did a great job with what you were given.

I had a white Xterra just like this on and my grill had the same issue as this one. In fact just about every Xterra around here has the same fading on the grill and no amount of trim dressing will fix it. Its relatively easy to remove and spray back to black.

Thaks for the compliment......I am far from a sucker, but I can read peole and she wasn't just trying to get allot for nothing.....so, those kind of people I enjoy going the extra mile for. As for the grill, that was my suggestion to her..repaint.....

This is the kind of detail that I like to see, shows great talent and skill. The details of garage queen exotics that I've seen so much of lately, do squat for me!

Nice work!

Nice work!

Thanks Beemerboy.........I agree with you....Exotic cars are nice and all those things, but for the most part, they truly never get abused rarely driven....so what the heck....Daily drivers and common cars bring out the real grunt work of detailing.....and what it really means to truly detail.
I also like seeing regular vehicles on here too !! Glad you liked it.

Wendall, you did an amazing job turing that thing around. What did you use on the Plastic Exterior Trim? It looks better than the the before pics.

Thanks Troy......Not my best work, but you gotta factor in Hours and $$.......I used Ultima UTTG...It is a bit pricey $32.00 but the stuff is amazing, does not streak even after rain or future wash....believe me, use it sparingly,it goes a long way.....so with that in mind I think its a great value....people put it on their tires but to me thats to expensive, besides I love my Opti-Bond.....have a great weekend
