vinyl painting tips

ive looked all over the internet and come up with somewhat of a collaborative process.... my goal is to paint my vinyl interior black, to replace the tacky navy blue that it is right now...

the steps i planned to follow once the pieces were removed from my car were:

1) clean with dish detergent and water

2 clearn with silicone remover (get rid of any armorall or such products so the paint will stick)

3) clean with wax and grease remover to get rid of anything else

4) wetsand with 400grit sandpaper to promote adhesion

5) apply vinyl color in thin coats

now, i was thinking this forum would know best of anyone what would work for this and what wouldnt... so, could you guys tell me if theres any steps i should skip or any that i add? i want this to turn out well, and last, so what steps must i take, and which products should i use?

thanks in advance, any help is appreciated

I did the interior on my old Sunfire: tan -> black

Make sure you do it in a warm place. Clean the parts well, then paint in thin coats, let cure properly and ALWAYS clearcoat, otherwise high-traffic areas will scratch easily.
