Vinyl "conditioner" recommendation needed.

Can I get some product suggestions for an interior vinyl conditioner? I have a 23 year old classic vehicle with vinyl seats, door panels, dash pad, etc. The vinyl is in good shape and I have been using 303 Protectant on a regular basis. The complete interior is black and during the summer, the interior does get quite warm.

I'm worried (actually obsessed) that the either the dash or seats will get overly hard, brittle and crack. I'd like a product to penetrate and soften the old vinyl (if there is such a product) and then I would apply the 303 to protect the surface.

I've read many posts regarding cleaning and protecting vinyl, but can't find much on actually apply some type of "conditioner". I do see many "leather conditioners", but I'm not sure if they would be recommended for vinyl.

I'm considering Leather Magic! Low Lustre Vinyl Conditioner, Poorboys World Natural Look Dressing , Meg's Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner, Meg's NXT Generationâ„¢ Tech Protect.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have used the Gold Class vinyl and rubber cleaner/conditioner which is probably just relabeled #40, and it does stink horribly. However, I like the effect on the things I use it on. Nice sheen, not greasy.

Thanks John Styrnol and Tasty for the "smelly" advise. :) . I don't want that on the interior.

Zaino's Z10 is also recommended for vinyl and it's a fantastic product for protection.

or, maybe Duragloss http://www.duragloss.com/product.asp?pid=286

I do use Zaino for my main exterior finish and from what I read on the Zaino site, it led me to believe that it was mainly a leather product that "also" works on vinyl. I am looking for something formulated just for vinyl.

Thanks!

Maybe I should have mentioned, but which I've bought, but have not used yet is Optimum's Protection Plus and Werkstatt's Satin Prot might be some good alternatives.

Protectant and Conditioner are two different products. I use 303 Protectant but there are many others that offer UV protection. As for a conditioner, the Vinyl Doctor in Springfield, Il who is very much an expert at vinyl repair told me that there is not a single product that can re-condition vinyl. He said that vinyl will not absorb any product that will make it more pliable or re-condition it. You can protect it, however, by using a vinyl protectant .

I had a feeling that would be the case with protectant and conditioner being two products with two seperate uses. I was hoping there would be a product that does actually make vinyl soft again. :o Kinda like what a leather conditioner does.

Thanks for all the input.

I guess he uses "re-condition" to mean a different thing.

I'm another fan of Poorboy's Natural Look. Been using it for some time now, and I'm very pleased with the results.

Thanks for all the advise. I have used other Poorboys products and have been happy with them. I'll probally try them and maybe one of the other products mentioned to see how they work out for my application.

Thanks again everyone! :bigups
