Victoria's Cruising Wax

rabbi

The Whaler Loves Detail City
was randomly picked out of my bin this morning. After washing my daughter's car I wanted to wax it. I reached in my bin and my hand found the Cruising Wax. Unlike the Red Wax I did not apply this wax by palm or fingertips as suggested by the instructions.I used a yellow foam applicator and did a section at a time. Normally I do an entire car then go back and buff/polish/wipe it off. After each section I removed the Cruiser's with a PB's mega/super? plush. The haze disappeared with minimum effort. After the car was waxed and buffed it sat there with a very bright shine. The car is a sand/gold color with silver flake. The flake is not muted at all and there is a definite pop.I can see no darkening of the paint whatsoever. Now the true test will come when I pick my daughter up and she notices. This wax is another quality product in my inventory.

I personally love the VW line of waxes, they're at least on par with the likes of Souveran and Natty's Blue. I like Cruising wax on darker colored mettalics, I feel it brings a lot of depth to the table while still letting the flake shine it's brightest. I tried it about a year ago with a friend of mine in a joint detail, it was very easy to use and according to him (his car) it repelled the Ohio winter mess pretty well. I've been trying to convince myself to purchase the looker kit from Victoria but since I'm in college I haven't really had time to detail a whole lot.

Interesting. The vendor that I got the Cruising Wax from recommended this wax for light colored and or metallics.

I am still suprised by the bright reflectivity of the VW waxes! All 3 have fantastic optical qualities!

It did have a crazily heavy metallic flake, it just seemed to add a little bit (okay, a lot) of everything. I'm not sure why these waxes aren't more popular on here, they're on par with some of the best stuff we usually talk about and it's not too expensive.

I'm not 100% sure on the durability because it was my friend's car but he said the 2 coats we had on held through a normal Ohio winter (with an overzealous salt crew) with one coat put on midway through and twice weekly washes at his place of business (the detailing department of the honda dealership, one of the few good dealer detail shops, expensive though). The wax is based on older wax technology so it has a much lower percentage of solvents, therefore you can layer for longer without worrying about the cleaning properties, there are none at all. One tip, spit shining with your favorite QD not only makes it look a lot better, it also makes removal quite easy.
