Verdict on Armor All

distrbd

all in the details
Hi all.
Please forgive me for bringing this up again.
I did use the search feature here on Armor all and the posts are old and reviews are mixed but over all the majority of members stopped using it (some still use it on tires).
I have two bottles of the water based formula and it says on the bottles:"original protectant"should I stop using it on the plastic interior of my cars ?
I know PB NL/TR or 303 are great products and more suitable but can you say for sure that Armor all is an inferior product ?and why?
If the purpose of using it is protection against UV/drying/.etc... and you like the shine it gives, why should one not use it then?
If we settle this I promise I'll never bring it up again:)

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

I think AA is an okay product. It has some applicability, especially for folks on a budget.

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

Its an ok product, I believe everything except for their wipes are water based. I know they used to have petroleum disstilates which may have caused some damage.

It should be fine, for me its a little to glossy and oily, even after I buff it off with a MFT it still feels greasy to the touch. At least for me.

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

AA has come a long way since the days of the oil based product...what you have is OK to use anywhere...however as Stephan said its a bit to glossy and oily feeling for me....I would use what you have on the tires and wells

I don't like the oily and greasy feel either if you can use a product that looks the same, if not better, and is dry to the touch i'm all for it. :bigups

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

Thanks guys.
I will use it on my tires but for the interior (civic + Accent) which is mainly plastic I will buy 303,or PB NL.
Was only curious what you all think of AA .now I know if I have to use it for inside, it will be alright.

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

I stopped using AA years ago but this summer I have been using it for my show car but on the tires only. The AA don't sling off like all tire dressings that I have tried and it don't leave the baby oil look on tires it soaks into the tire and leaves it looking like new.
I don't care for it on plastic or vinyl but on a tire it soaks into the rubber and looks good. I use the original classic formula.
If I was you I would find another product for the interior and use the AA on the tires. Over time they will start to look brown but all dressing does the same thing just wash good and reapply the AA

What do you find the main difference is between PB NL and PB trim resotre?
would you use TR for a new car ?

I have not used the product so can't say how it is but a lot of people here use it and like it.
I use 303 because I like the low gloss and the #40 UV protection. I buy it by the GAL.

AA is not bad at all. My Dad has been using it for AGES and you should see the interior of his 2000 Sonata! It looks like new! I mostly use it to dress wheel wells!

Re: Verdict on Aromor all

I like AA on my tires. Goes on nicely and doesn't sling.

I thought #40 was more of a cleaner than a protectant (i.e. Gold Class vinyl/leather protectant). I use the GC protectant (dash only) but it's too oily for me. I want to try 303 or the PBs NL.

This is what Mequiars say about #40

Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner
