Interesting, ive never heard of using wd-40 as a dressing....

I picked that up from an old guy at the Goodguys Car Show in Jacksonville, FL. He's been detailing for 30+ years, and basically said, "if you're gonna be washing these newer cars with all them eee-lec-tron-ics, you're gonna need something to wick the water away from them sensors. It works good on fenderwells too... helps keep tar and sh*t from stickin'."

For my personal car, I use a 1/3-2/3 mixture of ATF and CRC Power lube and put it in a spray bottle. Wait for a non breezy day, hit all the undersides, struts, linkages, diffs, ABS vacuum boxes, CV joints (everythiing but the brakes of course). Adds a shine, keeps salt, worms and other junk from bonding to your underbody parts for the winter. Over time, it creates kinda like a dirty "dust shield" on the underbody.



An old rally car trick is to spray Pam on your fenders to keep the mud-snow from sticking. Might work too, and you might smell like a bacon egg and pancake breakfast too drving down the road.

Yes. Mine is the magnetic one, ProGauge II.
