Vanilla Moose + Poorboy's EX

Originally loved the combination of Vanilla Moose with S100 topper.

Tried a new combination, Vanilla Moose with 4 layers of Poorboy's EX!! WOW looks even better than VM+S100.

Will topping VM+EX with S100 improve it any more? (hate to mess with something good!)

PB's EX as the last layer seems to not attract as much dust as the original combination!

What do you guys think???(of the combination?)

Here is a couple of pics of VM, EXx3 & a Souveran topper on my jet black 7.

I like VM, but I think GEPC/SEPC is slightly better as a pre-EX polish. Any polish will work in 'front' of EX, so use what you like best.

Nice looking pics Lightfoot and AMP99. :xyxthumbs

I have used Poorboy's EX over this past weekend and it is now my favorite sealant. Goes on easy and buffs off like magic. Leaves a nice slick glossy shine. I still haven't had the chance to use the Poorboy's Pro Polish and QD+. Can't wait. :D

I'm new here and I've been seeing Poorboy's products mentioned a lot on this site, but I've never heard of this stuff. Where can I get this stuff online? Would it be good to top Z2 or Z5 with this stuff or should the Zaino stuff be left alone, without a topper?

I left Zaino and have gone to Poorboys stuff. The Spray and Wipe, polish's and EX are wonderful.

www.poorboysworld.com will get you in touch with what I think is the best stuff you can get and get you in touch with Steve who is a good guy. You'lll be treated right.

Try what I did. Strip off everything else and begin with his stuff at whatever level you need and finish with a couple coats of EX. Leave it that way for a while and see what you think before topping with anything else. I don't think the EX needs anything else. But....that's me.

I'm thinking of using VM before EX to hide paint marrings. Or maybe GEPC for the same reason. Will EX clean out the fillers from VM (or GEPC or #9)?

Steve/Poorboys now has three different levels of Swirl Mark fixers as well as two kinds of polish. Try them along with his EX. I just like to stick to one product line...chemical bonding and all that stuff.

Bruce..not as long as you apply it by hand...the friction caused by a pc might take away a filler...

I too left the Zaino process. Looked rather sterile and the Z5 +/- Z6 just attracted dust like crazy! I dropped one of those foam peanuts close to the car and the static attraction sucked the peanut to the car (looked neat though).

VM+S100 gave it more depth but like any true Autopian I had to try Poorboy's EX because of all the positive feedback it's been getting! ;)

I also purchased the pro polish, so the next time I fully detail the car I'll try the whole line of Poorboy's from SSR1+PP+EX and see what happens.:xyxthumbs

Can Poorboy's EX be applied over Klasse AIO + SG? Or will it remove SG?

I haven't use PoorBoy's EX (should be here this week) but I'm pretty sure you can apply EX over anything and the EX will not take off what's underneath it.

Poorboy's EX will remove Klasse AIO and SG. From my testing, it contains cleaners, and should not be used as a topper.

Bruce..not as long as you apply it by hand...the friction caused by a pc might take away a filler...

Now that's a first.

Im still waiting to use the EX, Ive had it for a week now, but am curious as to its durability. I understand it has some "Amino functional resins"...what the heck is that anyway ? Something between a poly and a carnauba ? And what sort of durability in months are users getting ? Im a normal BF/Platinum, occasional Clearkote user.....

I can not speak on the upper limits of EX's durability but it meets my needs for good protection and appearance for my 3-4 week interval between daily driver detailing ( wash and wax). Wash Q week. :wavey

Patrick,

Amino functional resins are polymer resins that are supposed to increase durability. Problem is, those resins won't crosslink to the surface in the presence of oils. EX has oils in it, wax to be specific. So, that kinda makes the resins pointless. This angle, if you will, allows them to call a wax based product a "sealant". Durability will be determined how long the oil lasts.
