You need a proper wet/dry for detailing, period. The Metro is a great unit, it was my first vac but when doing serious cleaning and working on damp carpets (like after extensive cleaning or shampooing) you need a wet dry.

Because of my limited space I wanted a wall mount unit. So I bought the Bissell Garage Pro Wall Mount Vacuum (Wet/dry).
Strong suction, average "blower" side, best of all - a 32' hose so I can not only get the cars in the garage, but the ones in the driveway too!
Costco, $169.
Bill,
you have just about sold me on that vac , how does it perform at 32 feet out ?
I have the vac and blo ,I havent used it as a vac and wont , it has very average power and no way compares to a wet vac , but its a good blower for the cars, so I just leave it at that.
There are vacs out there with more powerful suction, but I had to have the convenience of a wall vac being out of the way for my crowded conditions. 32' hose provides enough suction for anything I've thrown at it.
Now I haven't used it on a really TRASHED interior, so I can't really speak to that. Most of what I'm using it for is your average vac job... no really extreme dirt or mud chunks.
I'll give it 7 out of 10 for suction power at 32'.
Ok, so I read that as you mean that it has 70 percent of power at 32 feet... I need a wall mount too...bad , thats why I bought the metro , I really should have returned it ...but I didnt....my garage is too small to risk a floor model wet vac.
I just checked, costco doesnt be gotten it anymore....wally world, Big Box...but it looks like brown truck or store order.
Based on everyone's recommendations I think I'm going to pick up the 16 gallon 6.5hp RIDGID wet/dry vac with a detachable blower. Although I think having a 16 gallon bucket is overkill the 6.5hp should be able to suck up anything and now I can easily blow dry my engine bay and exterior after cleaning and it's only $100! Thanks![]()
It's a really good "All purpose" vac. For EXTREME vacuuming, dried mud, gravel, sand, etc. I still dig out my old 5hp shop vac. It could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.
That detachable blower sure seems nice. My shop vac can turn into a blower but I'm always afraid of it picking up particles from inside the shop-vac container (even after emptied and riinsed out) and blowing them onto my paint.
