Because we have people who want to come in from pretty far away to hang out with us, it is only fair that we vote on the dates. :) I'm good with any date in August or September as long as we nail it down in time to be able to get it organized. We may need to reserve an area or something like that and I'd like to have at least a week or two to be able to do that.

If you have another date in mind then definitely post it. I just posted the last two weekends in August or the first weekend in September. If you have another idea then let's hear it. I would like to have as many people as we can get to come. Maybe we could do it twice to accomodate if people want to invite other club friends to it or something.

OK ok, sorry I haven't been around lately, geez life seems to get in the way of everything, no?

I'm so totally up for the 23rd, 'cuz it's more convenient for me... mainly because I don't have to work until midnight the night before. Have we come to a decision and I missed it? Or is there still time to vote? :D

This for that "convention" that was spoken of earlier? Or just a regional meet? :nixweiss

Sorry, I haven't been keeping track lately... :doh

I think we can plan on the 23rd. We should get a few of us together so we can plan it out and discuss it over the phone or over lunch or something. Anyone want to get together sometime? 2 or 3 of us should be able to handle the planning of it.

The 23rd it is. I discussed this with SlackerQX4 and we're both willing to help you get this organized. Send me a PM and we'll figure out when we can get together on this.

Mark it on your calendars, people. :) Start shining your cars too, because we will have a show and shine competition with a brand new Dodge Viper going to the winner.

...ok, so maybe the new Viper part isn't true. Still, it will be a good time and we are going to have some fun. Any suggestions as to activities or anything can be sent to me via PM or email and I'll discuss it with the rest of the organization crew. :bigups Spread the word to any other local club or group that you belong to. This will most likely be a BYOM if you want steak or chicken, but I'm sure we'll have some dogs and burgers on the grill for anyone who shows up. :D Hopefully y'all are still planning on it.

It's the 23rd? Coooool. I'll just need directions and a time... No fair on the show and shine though - I've got a drive to make and the car will definitely be dirty again. Think there will be anybody down there that knows how to wash a car? :p

Can't wait to meet everybody! :D (Anything I need to bring, supply wise?)

If you want to come down a little early then we can shine it up at my place. I'm right off the freeway on the way so it should be easy. It will make up for all the times we've missed out. I was at Mama Inez on Saturday with my friends. You were probably at my favorite place in Salt Lake at the same time or something. lol

We'll have a map and everything before the 23rd for sure. The offer is always open if you want to shine up the car at my place before the event. :bigups

Just some ideas of things we are planning to do in case you needed reasons to spread the word...

We want to have a car detailed on one half only to demonstrate what can be done with the right processes. This will give people a true feel for what is possible. The car will be clayed, polished, sealaed and waxes on one half. The interior will also be done on one half to show how stains can be removed and other interior areas can be cleaned. We will even have half the engine detailed. This has always been my dream of the perfect work vehicle for a moblie detailer. It would be a rolling advertisement for what can be accomplished.

If we have a power source we plan on having a PC workshop showing people how to use the simplest of all detailing tools. Products from Meguiar's and 3M will be available for people to try on our "test vehicle." Clay, sealants and waxes will also be available for people to try.

We want this event to be more than a bunch of people hovering around some clean cars. We want it to be educational and fun as only a true Autopian get together should be. Family and friends are invited. Sponsors for prizes are even being sought out. It will be as much fun as a bunch of detailing freaks can organize. :D

How's this for a plan? You want a half-detailed car? I'll offer. Mine's getting kinda grimey, and since I'm now on my mid shift cycle (grrr)... I'll bite the bullet and not touch it for two weeks (test of will, I can handle it). It'll be about the right time for the spoiler to get it's first treatment, too. She should be downright nasty by then.

I might even be willing to drive down friday afternoon, so we have time to do it. We just have to finish it before I head back up north. :D

Hey, I still consider myself a novice at this stuff. I'm hoping to learn a thing or two... All in the name of shiny goodness. ;)

EricZ actually works at a dealership and says he might have a nice oxidized car for us to work on. We'll keep yours in mind just in case we can't get one to pan out. I'm hoping to have my project with Jennifer's accord at least started by then so the people can see the difference between Zaino, UPP, Klasse, and maybe #20 on the same car side by side. I think I might leave the #20 out simply because there aren't enough surfaces on the car to test it on. Should be interesting. :)

Sweet. Let me know as soon as possible about the car, 'cuz if you don't need it, I don't want to be embarrassed when I get there. :D I'll have to schedule a day to go at her before then...

Hmmm... best shine, best protection, best shine, best protection... which to choose? LOL!

I just joined and heard about this thread. So did you guy's have a meet? How did it turn out? When will the next one be?
