using waffle weaves for quick detailing

I have some super soft grey ww towels that are fantastic for QD work. They are also the best non linting towels I have ever found for use on windows. The newer Blue waffle weaves I have from Pakshak cant comepare in softness with the grey ones. I say use what works for you

Yep. Count me in. For QD work, I first grab my Autopia CBT. But when I've run out of them (i.e., they're down in the laundry room), the WW is my 2nd pick. Something about the WW just seems to work a little better than the regular MF for me.

Polish and wax removal too?

Absolutely! DavidB knew what he was doing when he started selling the smaller waffle-weaves for general detailing. Basically, I like the waffle-weaves because they, 1) do not 'grab' your paint as much but are still at least as absorbent, 2) create a LOT less static, 3) embedded particles (tiny little twigs, leaf bits, etc.) come off much easier, 4) lint less when used on glass.

Plus, I like the larger size as that makes it easier to prevent the edge-stitchings from coming into contact with your paint.

Let me add that how well a ww performs as a general purpose towel has a lot to do with the weight of the fabric. The heavy fabric is only good for drying (IMHO). A medium weight ww fabric seems to combine the right absorbancy and texture to be good at a lot of tasks. The super light weight ww towels are trash!
