Using the PC on leather

Don’t use your cotton terry PC bonnets to polish your finish? Don’t know what to do with them? This is something I was thinking about and then it occurred to me I could incorporate using them with the PC in a leather cleaning and/or conditioning regimen.

I think using the terry bonnets on a pad ( you could use one that has gotten too old, and not good enough for the finish anymore underneath)on the PC with leather cleaner or conditioner can make the job easier, perhaps especially on heavier soiled seats.

I applied Lexol conditioner to my seats. (Yep, I have the Z10, but have tons of Lexol so I’ll probably alternate.) Upon applying to all, I buffed the seats with the PC with terry bonnet set on 2. I don’t see the need to go any higher than this. After I did the rear seats I turned the bonnet inside out and proceded to do the front seats. The result was a very non sticky, matte looking set of seats. The leather appeared to even feel a tad softer as well. For areas the PC can’t reach , follow up with a towel as you would’ve done to the entire seats originally.

This technique may really shine when seats need to be cleaned. I can easily see the 6:1 water:Woolite solution working nicely with this. A deep conditioning/restoration job using the Leatherique twins could also benefit from this method. I could see Leatherique Rejuvinating Oil being buffed using the PC in this manner.

So don’t dismiss those terry bonnets if you don’t like them for the finish just yet. Give this a shot and see what you think.

Bill, I think that is an outstanding idea. Give yourself a pat on the back for that one :bigups :jump :jump :jump :bigscream :bigscream :bow :bow :D :D :D :D :D :D

Did I cover it now?

Bill you are crazy!

Maybe I'll rotary my seat :lol

But seriously, good idea :) ...If I had a PC, I'd definatley give it a shot.

It would probably be perfect if you have the 4in set up for the PC as well!

Its time for me to clean my leather again any how... so maybe this weekend ill pull out the PC on my leather!

Top of the Line just inroduced some leather/vinyl brushes made for the PC and the Cyclo. I think these would work better for cleaning, but the terry bonnet would probably work better for applying conditioner.

Yeah, I'm using mine just to buff the conditioner. You might be able to get away with the terry bonnet for lighter cleaning.
