uses of simple green and hot water input needed

WHO ME.......
post for another forum any idea how this would work ?

I have found that hot water and simple green is much more effective at removing road grime, the hot water softens the tar, then the simple green dissolves it to rinse away. Try it sometime, you will be suprised at the results.

Makes sence.. its basic chemisty. Water has alot of energy to it (its SHC) and its transfered to the tar/road grime. which causes the particals of the tar to move faster and farther apart which makes them eiser to remove. Its a good system (similar to using hot water in an extractor) I think its a good idea. i know for me hot water works better but not 2 hot as i dont want to damage my car

::: Sits back and waits on the big debate about how Simple Green will dissolve your paint as well as the tar ::: :)

Why would you not use something more along the lines of a dedicated tar remover?

Agrees with you the SG is a bad word on here for some reason.....LOL

It is an APC which with hot water makes sence that it would take the tar off the car....I have some that I use on door kick panels to remove shoe marks and also on engines.

Well i would NOT use SG on my paint but i do use it on my undercarriage and it works great for removing road grime. I simply mix a solution up in a 2-1/2 Gallon bucket then put some in the Foamgun with my car soap saturate the undercarriage and then use the bucket of mix with a brush and long handle to scrub the undercarriage works great.

This is how i use it on my wheels to remove breakdust, also Megs APC they both work great..

I used to use Simple green for all the wheels, wheel wells, everything under the car or under the hood. But with Megs detailers line all purpose, its almost cheaper and you get more of it, I think.

I don't use APC's on my paint, Simple Green or Complicated Brown.

LOL.....that one took me a minute to get PEI, but then I almost fell out of my chair when it sunk in!

There are better things to use besides simple green. With that said I'm waiting for this thread to become what many of the simple green threads have.

I agree with most of the other responses. Using Simple Green to remove road tar is overkill. It's like drinking Drain-O to cure a stomach ache. You won't have a stomach ache anymore, but you'll have bigger problems.

this was posted from a forum that I'm on and the guy is a detailer........

this is not something i would do but was just seeing what every one else thought

Re: Need to know how to remove tar/rubber clumps...
HOT water, simple green, and a regular wash mit will take care of it! The most important part is the hot water, I mean make it boiling if you can, because the hotter it is, the easier it will dissolve the tar so that it will come off easier. The simple green is simply a lubricant to glide the wash mit on the paint without scratching while spreading the hot water on the finish. If you can hook up to your hot water heater I suggest doing so, as this is the easiest way to clean up that annoying black tar that flings off your tires and sticks to your rocker panels.

Wow. I mean, wouldn't using boiling water with a wash mitt present some health (and possibly vehicular related) problems? And of course, the Simple Green would eat through your hands and all........
