been using upp for a while works good but shine doesnot last, this makes me worry about the protection.don't mind doing the car but i do want some type of lasting protection. have been reading good things about opticlear is it better? if so where can i get it ?

thanks
ps the car is silver

If the "shine" is not lasting, then you must be washing with some sort of harsh soap or something else is affecting your LSP. I easily get a couple of months out of UPP, and I feel like I get even more when I top it with AquaWax. It's still awful slick and glossy now, and I haven't done anything but washes or S&W's in over a month and half.

That makes more sense. Yes, while UPP is one of the slickest products I use, that ultimate slickness is fairly short lived. I don't equate the reduction in slickness with an equal decline in protection. UPP looks great over the top of AIO on VW's Reflex Silver (ton 'o flake).

I haven't tried Optiseal, but another nice looking and relatively durable product for use on light colors and metallics is PB's EX-P. I just recently tried PB's PwS on the VW. I'm still evaluating that products look and performance.

instead of putting something on top of upp, that i will have to remove later.
i will continue to use it and add coats after washings.
it's very easy to apply and remove.
thanks

Either, I prefer OptiSeal as it is far easier to use and faster. You could do UPP to OptiSeal for best of both worlds.

We had planned on doing our paver patio this weekend, but I couldn't get the materials delivered in time. Once I saw that I would need over 100 bags of paver base at $4+ per bag, I thought we should explore other options. I found today I could get it in bulk for $80, but there is no way to get it home in time for the weekend.

I guess I'll have to devote that time to some bbq. I might see what neighbors are sticking around and maybe host something. I would just have to decided between smoking a brisket, pork butt or traditional grilled fare.
