we did a thing with a corvette forum that i belong to. someone would host at their house for the specialist for a friday through sunday and he would work on a few cars and get them running tip top. the forum member cars he did were on a first come first serve basis. what you'll charge per car is up to you and the members chipped in for his flight costs. so where you went would depend on who was willing to put you up for a weekend and had a garage where you could show your expertise...

Well Iam in the St Loui area....may not be good ,I may be the only rookie here....but I would love sum training !! :notworthy: I have two perfect training vehicles.... one black ,the other whore red ....:biggrin:
 
I'm all for it, but for it to make sense we would need an X amount of people and probably charge a nominal amount, which could be redeemed in at properautocare.com.

well seems it all depends on how much you can accomplish in one day and how many days you have to work with, for instance; if you fly in on thursday to the hosts house, then you have friday saturday and maybe half a day on sunday to show us your stuff. i know it all depends on the condition of the cars but those folks that volunteer maybe could send you detailed pics or something and you give them a price from what yu see and how much you wanna do. not sure you'd wanna spend the whole weekend on one car but divide between a few of those guys based on how far you have to travel and even those guys that wanna come down for the meet and greet can make a small contribution for your expenses, food and libation... what ya'll think?

and I have a question. In the original article it says, "The tools that enthusiasts and detailers commonly use, including Random Orbital, Dual-Action, and Rotary Polishers are far different the the tools used at the OEM level. Will the current Menzerna polishes be as affective if being used by tools like the PC, Griot's, Megs, Flex or does the Menzerna polishes work best with the tools used at the OEM level?

Menzerna will work for you using all the tools you have mentioned. Just make sure to do IPA wipe down's between steps.
 
Sorry if I have missed it, but do you heat up the bottles before use so that the compounds/polishes are at correct working temp?
 
Matthew- No I don't heat up the bottles.

Bunky, there is an updated chart in 'The Shine Institute' that includes Power Finish.
