Under Car Cleaning Tool

I was cleaning things up in the garage today and I found a tool that I forgot that I had and immediately thought I had a use for it.

The one I have says GARDEN PLUS on it and I could not find a picture of it on the web but this one looks just like what I have.

If you live where it don't snow then you won't need this but for those who live in the snow belt and don't plan on buying a new car as soon as you tear the last page from the payment book then check this out.

I put a quick disconnect on it mine has a trigger on the handle and it will telescope out to about 8 feet.

I used this to spray the under side of my car worked pretty good.
Just thought I would pas it along to those that have a garage this would without a doubt extend the live of a vehicle.

Orbit Gutter Cleaner Wand (58582)

Looks like it does the same thing my DIY underbody sprayer does.
Chances are, my parts list costs more than the ready to go gutter cleaner.

Undercarriage rinse tool
4' of 3/4" OVC plastic pipe.
1 Plastic hose shut off valve
1 3/4" PVC plastic street ell
1 3/4" PVC plastic cap
Buy or borrow some plastic pipe cement. (You will only need enough to put 3 joints together)
The hose shut off goes on one end of the pipe, the street el on the other. The plastic cap goes on the male portion of the street ell. Drill three 3/16" holes in the plastic cap. I drilled mine in line with the pipe so I would know where I was spraying. You can now spray off wheel wells, the undercarriage, all those places you couldn't reach before. A side benefit, when you are spraying wheel wells, you can be 4' away and don't spray yourself. (Not that I have ever done that:))

And no, I don't have any pictures. I evidently deleted them from my Photo Bucket account at some time.

Nice link to something that I have been thinking of lately. I had rain gutters to the house last spring. It has added another annual chore. By the time I got all of Charles' parts together I would find some way to make a box out of it(everything I make turns into a box. LOL). So I think I will take advantage of your timely link and order that handy little do-dah for the upcoming annual rite of this homeowner.

The unit that I have has a 5/8 hose thread on the end and you can change the fitting on the end but I don't remember getting anything other than what is on it which is a fan spray but it would be easy to build them since they are standard hose fitting and the telescope feature is nice I will use this thing again.

I have a pressure washer if I had a extension with a bend on the end that I could put on the end of my hose I could use that but I don't want to damage the undercoating.

yea.. word to the wise. if this attachment is for a garden hose i'd say fine, but from someone who does pressure washing, and who owns a few of these attachment. they are a complete pita. id rather brush an undercarriage and rinse the old fashion way. using this attachment on a pressure washer is just asking to damage something. the curved tip backed by 1500psi + does nothing but send the gun flying in the wrong direction. If you're going to use this piece on a pressure washer START AWAY FROM THE CAR to release the pressure and let the jolt pass, then ease in to where you want to go, HOLD PRESSURE UNTIL YOU'RE CLEAR OF THE CAR AND WELL ABOVE GROUND before releasing the trigger.

i wish i had one of these for a garden hose. honestly even when i'm at a job, i'd rather break out the ladder climb up and hand clean the gutters as opposed to using this extension.

If you go to the link I posted you will see it is for a garden hose.
I can hold it with one hand with ease just lay the end on the floor and slid it along under the car I have 50 psi water pressure.

As to using a ladder that is fine until you get arthritis and too old to climb then you will realize that idea sucks.
