Hello everyone..
I joined awhile back and have just got up and running. I have gained so much info and help from here and ordered product from proper auto care. This place Rocks!!! Anyway, my question is:
How can I protect the hull of a bot with the best possible coverage. I have done a Wash, Clay, Wash, mild cutting compound, polish, glaze and sealant. This boat is used for deep sea fishing, so I am sure there is nothing that will be long term, but I would like to offer my customer the best I can. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much guys.

Steve,

For ultimate boat hull protection I would recommend using Meguiar's #55 Polymer Sealant, which is basically #20 in the auto line.

Here's a link to the Meguiar's Marine Care Professional Products;

Frank:
The closest thing to #55 that I found in the marine product section of Meg's web-site was #56
Boat/Rv Pure Wax
* Durable high gloss protection for fiberglass and all painted surfaces
* Blend of pure Brazilian carnauba wax with silicones, polymers and resins to maintain extraordinary gloss and protection
* Protects against the sun's ultraviolet rays

Must not be what you are referring to since it sounds more like a carnauba blend than it does a sealant.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Yes, I was looking in what appears to have been the wrong place.
While I never did find it on Meguiar's site, I did find it on a boat product site.
*******
MEGUIAR'S #55 BOAT/RV PREMIUM SEALANT
Advanced blend of selected polymers, silicones and imported waxes for a brilliant high gloss shine that outlasts all other waxes on fiberglass and painted surfaces. 16oz.

It was priced at $28.95, including shipping, on that site.
Sounds kind of pricey to me, but that may not be as expensive as it sounds when you consider the cost of shipping.

I suggest Collinite. To clean use #920 Fiberglass Boat Cleaner and follow with either #925 Fiberglass Boat Wax or #885 Paste Fleetwax. I believe Collinite is the industry leader when it comes to marine protection. Also gaining a large market for automotive and fleet use. Products that are cheap and durable, really a great value.

Give them a call and they can help you on right products to use for your specific rig. Here is a link for their list of distributors: http://www.collinite.com/order.htm

3M has the best line of fiberglass cleaners, polishes, and waxes. I used to work at one of the largest boat dealership in the country.

Guys...as usual, you have helped a fellow detailer...Thanks for all the responses, I will be sure and attach photos when I am done.

I believe "best" to be a relative term.

Most boat supply stores that stock Meguiar's products should have #55. And it is usually priced under $15 per 16oz
