Ultima Paint Guard Plus

I have to give this product a huge thumbs up. I've been a Zaino guy for awhile. I decided to expand my products and buy this stuff. I bought this and the Ultima Paint Prep. I didn't use the Paint Prep, and I'm glad I didn't. Few weeks ago I got a DuraGloss bucket kit with the paint polish cleaner in it. I decided to use that.

I started out with the Chemical Guys Citrus Red. That stuff took off every layer of Zaino I put on both cars.

After that I used the DG 101 with an orange pad. Once I had everything looking great, I started the Ultima. I was impressed with how easy the application was. I may do another coat today. But I'm not sure it would do any good. The shine is absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations. I like it way better than the Optimum Opti-Seal I bought 2 years ago. Then I lightly sprayed some Ultima Detailer(best smelling stuff ever!!) all over.

Ultima seems to have fallen off the radar so it's good that you brought it up.
 
I wonder if they've toyed around with the formula any? I thought Optiseal beat it in every respect. I also wasn't a fan of how water refused to come off the surface of the paint with UPGP. I could open my trunk (to vertical) and the water wouldn't move.

Goes to show you what reading interpretation does! I had both and ended up giving away the UPGP. I liked the look at certain angles, it was indeed amazing BUT at most angles it was boring. I feel Optiseal has much more range, sheds water better and is more foolproof.



Ronnie, no disrespect to you, just starting up the discussion since both of the products are so similar.
 
i haven't had the water shedding problem dan experienced. i still use upgp on my truck and os on my wife's. tried the os on my truck and didn't really notice much difference.
 
None taken Dan. I guess we'll see in a few months. But I just put the 2nd coat on few days ago. Amazing stuff. I didn't get one streaking issue either I'll still keep my Optimum though. Never getting rid of that. The Paint Prep I can definitely do without.
