TW Ice - car wash

To my dismay, all of my local Costco's no longer carry Meg's GC wash! The only local place I've seen the GC is at the auto parts store, at $10 for the half gallon size, I believe it was.

So I bit the bullet and decided to try the only other wash that Costco stocked - TW Ice. Price was $6.99 for the gallon jug. Just wondering if you all have had any positive/negative feedback for this product, just so I know what to expect. I did a quick search for similar threads, onyl found topics relating to the wax.

Looking forward to all of your comments!

I just recently found out there was a TW ICE, I haven't tried it yet but definitely post up your review of it once you use it. I know my local Target's carry the GC Wash so check them out.

Just tried it out for the first time this evening.

I ended up using a lot more of the product than I had expected to. I poured as much product into the bucket as I usually do, but ended up not getting nearly enough suds to make me comfortable. I ended up using almost double the amount I'm used to in order to get enough suds to make me comfortable, and to get my sponge to slide over the paint easily enough.

The viscosity is much lower than the GC I've gotten used to. I can't think of a good way to describe it, but it pours out of the bottle the same way GC would if you cut it maybe 1:1 with water. Not sure if dilution is the real answer to why I need to use so much product, but I have a feeling that this could be a related factor.

The smell, however, was quite pleasant. The first thing I thought of as I caught a whiff of the soap was "my, this would make for a nice-smelling bath product!"

Overall, not a terrible product, but I would much prefer GC if it was available at the same price. If the cheapest available GC was selling for over 50% of the cost of TWI, I think I'd be pretty split.

Hope my review helps.

I've used the old TW Gold car wash and it was pretty good. I think GC is overrated. I like NXT wash better.

Have to agree with you there. It's exepensive laundry liquid.
