Turbo Wax Tire Gel & Z8 Spruce Up

I just returned from a 2 week road trip, and had to break out the supplies today!

Last week, my shipment of Turbo Wax Tire Gel arrived. The fine folks at Turbo Wax also included a 4oz bottle of VRT and Sealer for me to try out.

After reading the directions, I noticed a 4* emblem (see photo) -The emblem looks identical to the decal on 4* products. I'm not sure if Turbo Wax is re-badged 4*, and I've never tried 4* tire gel, so who knows?

I used an EO applicator to apply the tire gel. I used about a cap full or less to apply x 2 to the STS. This stuff is HIGH gloss, so if you like a matte finish, move on. I'm not a big fan of tire gel products (many sling and can stain your paint), so I took the STS for a quick spin after my application -and didn't have any sling.

To finish up I applied a quick coat of Z8 on all external surfaces (paint, glass, etc..). Here are a few after shots.

Them is some shinny tires that stuff last very long?

Also nice car!

I'm not sure about the durability. This is my first use. I'll have to report back on that.

Four Star is indeed the manufacturer of Turbo Wax. Rick is a man of integrity so when he was approached by Turbo Wax to offer his products under the Turbo Wax label, it was agreed that the Four Star logo should be on the labels to ensure that the customer knew what they were using without any internet gossip. Turbo Wax is an independent company, not owned by Four Star, they purchase products from Four Star for resell under their own label.

I do not know whether these products are identical to Four Star Ultimate or tweaked for Turbo Wax but you can be assured that Rick is going to put his best into any product that bares his company logo.

Wow! That is glossy. I tend to like gloss sometimes but I think the reason I don't like them so much now is because of the sidewall design of the tire...

I'd rock it on my

I think you need a glossy tire when you have a shiney paint finish.both seem to compliment each other. BTW The cars is sharp,I'm liking the side pics also..

Paint is very nice! The tire gel looks very even, but is just a bit glossy for my taste.

I'm not a real fan of high gloss either, but I must admit the gloss compliments the look of the rims :bigups

Please update on the durability

Quick update on Turbo Wax Tire Gel:

It rained most of last week, and the product held up very well (i.e. no browning).

I cleaned up the rims/tires with A2Z and reapplied a very thin coat after my wash this week, and they look good as new.

Has anyone tried the 4* Tire Gel? I may have to order some to compare. I'm starting to warm up to tire gels again.

Yes I have used Four star gel. Wifehatescar sent me a sample. I have gone over my tires twice with a two ounce sample bottle. Used a Adam's detail sponge to apply. It spread evenly and had a good shine to it. I let it dry over nite before I moved the vehicle. The shine lasted for me about four days. Then started to diminish. It still looked good for over a week of daily driving. I just went to look at the sample bottle. I have over half the bottle left from a two ounce sample. So am not sure if that is good or bad when it comes to amount per application. I think it is good but usually do not consider the amount of product applied. Rather, I consider the amount of drying time it takes and the dust attraction of the product as well as the shine.
