Tropi-Care on GTO

Recently I have been wanting to try out Tropi-Cares line up. They are a paying sponsor on the GTO board I frequent and people have nothing but good things to say about them and their products. So during their recent detail bucket sale, I decided it was as good a time as any to put an order in.

For full disclosure, Steve offered to send me a few extra products to try and post my review. He sent me TC-7 Stain Repellent Concentrate, Lake Countrys Ulti-Mitt, TC-W9 Woven Glass Cleaning Towel, and their Carnauba Paste Wax. In addition to the bucket I ordered TC-2 Premium Liquid Wax.

So here's my complete review that I did for the GTO forum. I decided to keep it on here just cause I spent a decent amount of time writing it. So sorry for all the reading, but if you are sitting on the fence about trying Tropi-Care, I hope I can give you enough information to make up your mind. Also their microfibers are great and their grey one and waffle weave drying towel is a must in everyones kit. I will be ordering 10 more of the grey ones soon.

TC-1 Clay Bar: Made by Clay Magic and it works well.

TC-3 Polish: Have not used yet

TC-5 Detailing Spray: Has a nice citrus scent. Cleaned water spots off my car real well today. Had great slickness when dried. Definitely a great detail spray.

TC-6 Car Wash: I have been using Duragloss #901 for a while now and have been completely happy with it, I have a gallon in my garage. I knew it would take a lot to impress me in terms of car wash. I was a bit skeptical about how well TC6 would work, because it's a very thin car wash. I used my foam gun with ~2oz of TC6 in it. I started washing the car after a presoak. The mitt literally floated across the surface. I never had a soap that had as much lubrication as TC6. It cleaned my paint with little effort. I know that with this much lubrication it would be very hard for dirt to mar the soft clear on the GTO. New favorite soap right here.

TC-8 Swirl Cutter: Had a few swirls on my hood. Broke out the PC and an Edge light cut green pad. So worked it into my hood and took out all my swirls pretty quick. Work it for 3-5 minutes on a light cut pad and there should be no problem removing swirls from your paint. This was a very user friendly polish that was strong enough to remove swirls, but mild enough to not need a second polishing step. Highly recommended.

TC-9 Glass Cleaner: As people who know me can attest, I cannot clean glass. Everything I have ever used streaks like crazy. So with this I managed to clean my glass and there were no streaks. Amazing.

TC-10 Leather and Vinyl Cleaner: This stuff smells really strong, like clear your sinus strong. But then again, so does every other leather cleaner I have used. This was a great mild cleaner that can clean your dash and leather as well. The sprayer is nice cause it lays out a real fine consistent mist. Can't comment on its true cleaning power, cause my car is pretty clean inside. I will test it on my girlfriends Grand Prix soon, which is much less clean.

TC-11 Premium Leather and Vinyl Conditioner: This worked great as well. I never thought a dual purpose conditioner would work this well. It left my seats real soft with a matte shine, which is exactly what I look for. Used it on my dash and it worked equally as well. I worked it into the leather and it just vanished with no need for buffing. On the dash I applied it evenly then let it sit for a few seconds, then buffed it off. I was left with a great looking UV resistant finish.

TC-15 Tire and Rubber Dressing: I hate silicon tire dressings that sling all over the side of your car. So I recently started using Z16 as it's a water based dressing that absorbs into the rubber and won't sling. My only problem with Z16 is that it was a little too matte of a shine for me. So trying this I was happy that it left a shinier finish then Z16 and is $4 cheaper.

TC-2 Premium Liquid Wax: It's black which is weird. It also comes in a spray bottle, which is weird. However, I just sprayed a bit onto each panel and then spread with a foam applicator. Spread real thin and even, which is tough to do with liquids. So I waited for it to dry and then came back and buffed it off. Came off real easy and left a great shine and slickness. I usually hate liquid waxes, but this one will remain in my arsenal.

Lake Country Ulti-Mitt: Buy one, plain and simple. I've tried a bunch of different mitts and this one is by far the best. I could go into all the reasons, most important is the fact that it has plenty of places for dirt to go so it doesn't scratch the paint. Pretty much the best mitt ever.

Great review of the products. I've chatted with Steve a few times and he's very knowledgeable and has a very well rounded product line. I've tried older versions of some of the products you mentioned and was quite impressed. Your GTO looks stunning, excellent work!

^ I don't wanna mess with that fancy supercharging. A nice big cam and maybe some heads will do nicely.

Thanks for all the compliments.
