Tried Zaino on the wife-mobile, may change winter routine

I had originally planned to give all of our cars 3 coats of Z2-Pro (just ordered it) and 1 or 2 coats of Collinite 476s for the winter. Talk about armor! I just did the new wife mobile, a 2006 Mariner today with the 3 coats of Z2-Pro and I have to say Im very impressed! I didnt even use 1 ounce for 3 coats, man this stuff goes along way. it was very easy to apply via PC and very easy to remove too. I combined the removal and then Z6 steps into 1 by using the Z6 to remove the residue. The Z2-Pro has a much deeper and wetter look than I had expected and it made the black really deep, dark and wet. Im debating whether to top or not? Heres a few pics:

Nice job w/ the Mariner!! Now let's see some pics of the red M3 convertible I saw!!!

Didy ou use ZFX with it ? Looks about as wet as it's going to get . Only thing that could improve that would be Z8 .

A good carnuba would warm it up though .

s100 I dunno - looks great on white .

Carnuba Moose or Natty's ..

Car looks great

I really don't think you need to top it for durability's sake.

In my experience, topping Zaino with a carnauba doesn't alter the appearance (appreciably).

Your vehicle looks very nice!!

As far as topping With another wax reminds me of the show Happy Days. You know, when the Fonz is in the bathroom and was going to comb his hair. He gets out his comb. Starts to prepare to comb his hair. When he looks into the mirror he just shrugs. Puts his comb away. Leaving, without doing anything more. No use messing with perfection.

very nice.. but if you're impressed with z2 pro to remove, wait till you play with something like WG or UPP or EX-P .. I'm with zaneO as well, in that z2 pro does not need a topper..

So you guys think that these 3 layers will protect form now until about March driven daily through rain, snow and salt? It will sit outside this winter. I'm still considering topping for durability, not looks per se. I have used an own S100, EX-P and Wolfgang and all are easy to use but using Z2 was just about on par. And yes I did use ZFX. I did not order any Z-8, but I did get some OCW. Can I use OCW on top of Z2-Pro? And can the OCW be used in the winter say from 20-40*?

MikeyC, there are pics of the M3 floating around here somewhere. Ill post some more in the next few weeks after I polish /wax (would Soveriegn last all winter in storage with a few drives on nice days?) and get it ready to go into hibernation for the winter.

I think that the protection will be there if you wash and use Z-8 in your regimine.

I went almost seven months on my Silverado without doing anything to the vehicle. I had serious water spots from dew, rain and water sprinklers. I also had embedded dust and dirt on all the horizontal surfaces. Clay took care of all but the water spots from the sprinklers. Am still working on that problem.

I believe the vehicle had some protection left becasue of the beading that i noticed as I was washing the truck. The vertical surfaces had pretty good slickness but definitely diminished from the intial three coats of Z2-Pro. The truck looked pretty good after the wash and dry process.

I also did the same thing to my wife's car that was garaged daily. After a wash and Z-8 wipe down the looks were terrific. Being garaged daily makes all the difference in the world.

Will be interested in your longevity if you do use Collinite. Will need/want the best protection available for that truck when I return to work in the spring.

I think you will be fine till March, however if you do notice the durabilty waning, it only takes a couple minutes to apply OCW, and that will give you another 8 weeks easy.

Zaino is the best 'armor' you can buy!

It works here in Detroit on my wife's Escape, three winters in a row. Use Z8 (forget about topping Z2 Pro - Z8 will impress you even more than any topper can), and I can't imagine that it meet all your expectations.
