Tried many tire dressings....not happy...

PRetty much any protectant made from PDMS....ya know the water based milky liquid ones....

303

vinylex

zaino tire dressing

Westleys has cheap one

Black magic has one....(semi gloss dashboard stuff)

they all about the same.....for me....

Technique is what is important....

apply let sit 10-15 mins...apply some more....let sit,,,,,apply some more....then let sit about 15-20 mins....

Then buff like the dickens with big cotton towel......

This way no sling and lasts through about 3-4 rain showers........

the buffing is important else if you spit on it ...it will run off and looklike crap....IMO

This is how I apply my dressing (currently Megs Vinyl/Rubber) and have had great success. I can't say how well it lasts through rain but I don't have problems with slinging or streaking. I reapply at least once a month to maintain my desired level of satin/shine.

The only dressing I've used that really does hold up through rain is the Endurance. I would assume other gel dressings would work as well. The downside to Endurance is that it seems to coat the rubber even after wiping. This causes streaking on the sidewall and with high speed you get slinging. Bill, I assume this is what you're experiencing as well?

( I'm another Bill) Since using 303 I've never had slinging issues. I used Endurance back when it first came out and was bitterly disappointed with it, washed away in rain in no time flat. Tire gels aren't my thing any more, I'll take the safe water based dressings with UV prtection and the "safe silicones". I accept the compromise of having to reapply after rain

Try Vinylex, it can be applied easily for a nice matte finish, another words no splatter. Try it by spraying on tire and wiping dry, includes UV inhibitor to keep tires new looking.

I concur with these.. lol

It's funny that there are so many complaints of "sling" from Endurance. I use it exclusive now, after trying all kinds of stuff (not 303 - too pricey). I apply with the applicator thinly, let set, and apply a second coat after 15 minutes if necessary. Let set for an hour or more. No sling whatsever. Lasts through at least 2 washings for me. And if you see my location, I am in the other Vancouver, so we know all about rain.

Are the people having trouble with Endurance putting really thick coats on, or not letting it set? I dunno why it would be different for us who don't have the problem? Maybe they don't work as well for certain tires? :nixweiss

What part of Vancouver are you in???? North or west???? I also want to know where 4DSC live so I can check out his car some day :wavey

Luster, I'm not offering any radical breakthrough here, as you've already tried Zaino's tire dressing. You said it only gave you 5 days of performance. My experience on the old Jag (NOT driven every day, I'll admit) has been much better -- more like a month for me, and it's still looking black with a lovely satin finish. But I do clean the fool outta the tires (APC+) before dressing, so I wonder if that could make a difference. :nixweiss

Limited success with these products:

1. Zaino Perfect Tire Shine - Probably best of group, but gone after 5 days

2. Armor All Tire Foam - Lasts 6-7 days, but is a little messy on application. But not bad. (no sling after drying for 1 hour)

Anything last a week with near-full gloss?

I'd be interested to know how you would rate the Lanes Super Blue Tire Gloss (claimed to be "the most durable tire shine on the professional market today") following their Black & White Tire Cleaner. For me, this combo replaced Zaino.

Thanks.
