Tree Sap or Something Else?

I came out to my car today after work and noticed I had green and purple marks all over the hood and front side fender of my silver car.

I was able to get them all off with water and a rag but I have no idea as to what they were from. I was parked under a tree so I wasn't sure if they were from a tree or maybe a squirell or bird droppings of some kind. There weren't any on the roof though.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? It was almost like someone had splashed it on. Sorry I don't have any pics, I wanted to get them off as fast as I could.
 
Sounds like the birds perched in the trees and dumped the berry-sh!t on yer motor.



Have a good check in direct sunlight at a few angles to make sure they haven't etched.



There's a lesson to be learned here mate :)
 
Thanks, I will learn not to park under any trees again. It was cloudy and cool yesterday so it came off pretty easy. It didn't appear to leave any damage. It just looked weird being green and purple marks.
