Travelers say hello

My name Jim. The wife and I are recent retirees and are traveling up and down the east coast visiting friends and relatives. We also do quite a bit of camping. I bought a gentley used 2008 Explorer 2wd. It has the 4.0L, 90,000m with a very nice blue metallic pearl finish.
I have what I hope is a timely question. All our vehicles take quite a beating when on the road. What is the best way to remove the bugs, tar and other nasty stuff off the front of the car? I find that just washing doesn't always work. Also brake dust. I hate, hate, hate brake dust. So I am looking another product to tackle the brake dust.
I hope this post is not too much for a introduction post. Thanks, Jim

Purple Power and a soft brush on a adjustable aluminum pole (Wal-Mart has all these items)

Keep the area wet, in the shade/cool to the touch

You'll be amzazed with the results

welcome to AF. I like bug squash the best, but if you're on the road, Stoner Tarminator Tar, Grease & Sap Remover is usually available at local walmarts and auto parts stores. the bug sponges really help.
CarPro Iron X Iron Remover works pretty well on wheel brake dust cleanup and there are different wheel sealants/coatings and waxes to make cleanups even easier after the wheels are clean. I have used aerosol spray brake parts cleaner in a pinch, but they can be a little more harsh on coated wheels. some brands of brake pads will dust more than others, so consider investing in a different/better pad the next time they are changed.
