"Transitions" Glasses?

1.Anyone have these?
2.Care to comment on your experience with them?

One thing I have heard that might keep me from buying them is that they don't darken in many/most vehicles because the windshields in later model vehicles filter out the UV needed to cause the glasses to transition.

Hi Charles,
I have them, and a few of my drivers do as well.
True they don't get "that" dark when your driving, but I have yet to have any problems with that. The only thing is when you come inside from the bright outside, you have to wait a moment or take your glasses off till they lighten up a bit.
I love them :bigups

P.S.
I forgot to mention after a while they don't go back to completely clear, it looks like a very lite tint

I had Transitions lenses on my previous glasses. I thought they never got dark enough. I replaced them with "Velocity" lenses. They get darker and change much more quickly. I will buy Velocity again.

I can't live without them! :bow ;)

I switched back to glasses from lenses because of them.

Only weak points are that they can take long to go back to clear inside and can be too dark outside on cloudy days. When I need to see details on a car outside on cloudy day I try to look without them but then all I see is a big blur :o

The benefits far outweigh these drawbacks though :bigups

Go to framesdirect.com for the best deals, they even beat my 30% discount on glasses at Lenscrafters :bigups
