Touch Up Paint Question

I was just wondering from people's experience with touch up paint, do you find when you use it that the touch up lasts a long time or you have to continuously repair the spot.

If done right the touch up will last forever...It's just that most people just blob it on with little to no prep and it dosen't last.

I touched up some paint on a buddies truck about 4 years ago and about 75% are still there, are he is not very easy on the paint.



He also had a chip repair business do the hood, as it was peppered with stone chips, is lasted about a month.
