I live on a farm and we have several kinds of dust that get in all the nooks and crannies on vehicles:
Spring: Planting Dust
Summer: Spraying Crops Dust
Fall: Harvesting Dust
All Seasons: Gravel Road and Drive Dust
Megs APC mixed 10:1 was used in this application.
Things I learned:
Pros:
Product suction tube is weighted and moves with the angle of the unit so you always have cleaner available.
Selector switch for both product and air or just air for drying works well
Worked great at blowing cleaner into those hard to reach areas and pushing the dirt out.
I used less product than I would with a spray bottle. It was easy to get dirt rolling like you would use when cleaning a sidewalk with a garden hose.
This thing is just plain fun.
Cons:
Can be awkward around steering column but this is simply a matter of self adjustment.
There is a lot of mist in the air (to be expected when blowing any liquid) keep area ventilated.
There will be mist overspray onto vehicle when working on doors and rubber seals so do not use for this unless you are also washing your vehicle that day.
Air compressor that goes above 90psi is recommended. There was a performance drop off when the psi went below 90psi (If your compressor has a max setting of 90psi once the motor cycles off it will not start up again until it hits a level well below 90.
I set my compressor output to 110psi so it cycled from 90 – 110.
So how do I feel about the Tornador?
I love this thing. I am very happy with its performance after only one use and I have no regrets in purchasing it. :woohoo:
I do wonder however if the plastic trumpet (cone) can be ordered separately as a replacement part. It can be unscrewed from the unit so it seems that there should be a way to get individual parts for it if needed.
I have not tried it yet for carpeting or seats so that will have to wait for another day.
Thanks for reading.
