Topping Glazes with KSG?

I looking to see if a KSG can be applied on glazes. Currently have 3M IMG which I like the wet, filled looked, but not sure I can top with KSG for the protection I would like. I have some RMG on order too, so that will interested in trying the KSG over RMG. Will KSG apply over RMG or other glazes? Anyone have any experiences with KSG on glazes?

Thank you.

You will have to lay the Klasse SG down first then apply the Glaze on top. Pure Sealants don't bond well (If at all) to oily surfaces such as Glazes or Carnaubas.

Would I not risk knocking down the sealant with a glaze? RMG has some cleaning properties correct?

Hmm, You have a point. Maybe someone else has done this. I know from my experience and customers the KSG can be very picky on the surface it is applied on. If it does streak it is a real bear to get off. Maybe try a pure Glaze or just a Carnauba. Pure sealants with a pure Carnauba topper is a killer combo.

My dilima, if there truely is one, is that my car is outfitted with 3M clear bra, and I was under the assumption that waxes and solvents should not be applied on them, so I am trying to limit myself to products that I can treat the car as a whole, in other words simply apply to paint and clear bra as if one. If I can apply carnuba to my KSG topped clear bra then that would be great.

Danase Wet? GLaze, and CG creme glaze can be layered with sealants. I've used zaino, fk1 2180, and 1000p over both of these glazes with good results. However, I personally wouldn't recommend it. I prefer : all zfx'd ZAIO, z5, z2, CS, z8. BAM+!m

Last note, IIRC, danase wet glaze? has ZERO cleaning agents, whereas, CMIIR, CG creme glase has some minor cleaning properties.

HTH

He asked if there were other glazes. If they play well with zaino, they will most likely work with KSG.

RMG has a little cleaning ability.

RMG has no cleaning properties from what I understand.

Out of all the product lines I sell ClearKote is still a mystery to me. Heck look at the info they provide for RMG,

"Improves reflective gloss of painted and plastic surfaces. Can be used by hand. Wax and Silicone free."

LOL! Thats it!

True, on the other hand you have CG which is confusing and Zaino that gives you every detail. Clearkote is just plain and simple.

The product terminology in this field can be so open booked at times! LOL. To me a Glaze is a product that uses polishing oils which in the past left a deep/wet look but the surface did contain oils. Now we have sealants called Polishes, Glazes called polishes... LOL. This is where this website comes in very handy, there is always someone who had tried a combo! Even Danase's description to me sounds like a Sealant. The good thing is they specifically mention it can be topped with a sealant; this may be what you are looking for.

can i suggest buying a great glaze or topper? maybe P21S or if your sick in the head like me I really suggest Zymol Concours Glaze. I put ZCG over KSG and I'm doing it tomorrow, again.

If you try it I would really like see pictures before SG and/or RMG. love to see the results.

A sealant like KSG is very durable, but yields nice shine, but it lacks any depth IMO. It also does not hide paint defects well. A glaze does a great job of adding depth and hiding defect, but lacks the durability. If I could top the glaze with KSG, I would at least have a long lasting wet finish. I have P21S and some Blitz Carnuba, which look great on top of KSG, but it doesn't last, BUT I am worried about my CLEAR BRA. I was not sure if these products are safe for it.

I might have to give Danase Wet Glaze a try.

Are Carnubas or P21S safe for Clear Bra?

I agree. I would be interested in knowing what the story is behind the Danase Wet Glaze, it is definitely not a "classic" "pure" "glaze" ("polish") IDK!
