yesterday you mentioned not putting four star upp over # 80 because 80 has oils in it . this is my first detail, and i want to make sure i buy the right products.. i have a black vehicle and heard upp is pretty good on black.. are you saying it would be best to skip meqs altogether as they have oils and any poly sealant will not bond to them properly ? how do i know if the polish i want to use before the poly sealant is oil and waterbased ?? which you said will effect the cross linking.. this is starting to get very confusing.. thanks jon.........todd

ps. now i'm thinking of just going with poorboys

1- ssr line for the swirls

2- ex sealant w/carnauba

????????????????????????

The easiest way to ensure that oils will not interfere with a product cross-linking process is to wipe down the surface with Isopropyl alcohol, this also has the advantage that youâ€â„¢ll see clearly if your polishing process has removed the surface imperfections.

For info- some polymer products use oil in water-emulsion so that the oils don't interfere with cross-linking, confused yet?

Sometimes it seems that youâ€â„¢d need a chemistry degree just to understand what detailing product to use :nixweiss
