Todays detail, 05 Inf. FX45 with scratches...

Ive had this booked for a week now. So I call to confirm Fridays detail, on Thursday. Owners wife tells me "He'' is out of town, but he wanted me to convey that he has some scratches induced by bushwacking while in search for Apache Trout in the White Mts of Arizona. So I notice the scratches, didnt think anything of them until I recalled the last Infiniti I did, and how somewhat hard, the clear was. So I hit it with great exhuberance, started with the wheels and wheel wells, ahem..........Mud started flowing, and rocks started falling. I was afraid to even look inside for fear of dried mud and weeds, you know typical fisherman pollutants, maybe some Power bait on the leather seats......

I hope they caught some fish!!

Heres a closeup of the scratch.....Before obviously.

Heres the length of the scratch.....It actually went from just beyond the front door handle, to just behind the gas cap.....

I did get to play with Duraglosses pink Buffing Gel, which removed about 50% of the scratch in conjunction with a Orange Light cutting pad on 6 all the way.....I ended up finishing up with FS Body Shop Medium Cut, which has to be the most underated and least talked about quality polish out there. The stuff is simply awesome in my book......

I used the FS BSMC on the upper portions, with an Orange pad. (With the exception of the hood which I experimented with the Pink Buffing Gel, and Orange pad) The remainder of the FX I used Duragloss 105 with a White pad.

Its amazing what clay, a nice polish, and sealant can do.............

That's one heck of a recovery--it looks wicked good, as they say in Maine.

Why someone would take a vehicle like that and just crunch it around on a trip like that is beyond me, though I guess for some, it doesn't matter.

Anyway, it's an A+ job. A nice "bedtime story."

Thanks, Patrick!

Awesome work, Patrick! :bow

Looks like you got out the scratch and left a super slick finish behind, as evidenced by the video!

Patrick, Great work!

I about shiat myself watching that video as something came flying into the picture. :chuckle:

Nice work Patrick...!! Have you become a believer of Duragloss? Is it very good or is it just good?

It seems like the more I use it, the more I like it.............That whole towel thing kind of happened on accident. I saw something on the front window so i tossed a waffle weave on it. Well, I missed the window and hit the hood by the intake grill, and the towel went sliding to the ground before I could get there. I thought to myself, wow thats kind of cool. So I grabbed my sons digicam, tossed a clean WW up there and the rest was history!

Good question, the FX is hardly capable when it comes to any kind of offroading...

Great detail!
