The Whaler Loves Detail City
the beginning of my "Winter Protection Program". My wife's car(silver metallic) will get the UPP treatment. My car which is dark green will receive EX-P. I'll try to slap some HGSG on my daughter's but time will dictate what I do.

I've started my winterization process too. Yesterday, the Ford got a Poorboy's treatment of SS&S wash, PwC, then EX-P. I will put a second layer of sealant on in about a week. At this point, I am undecided between applying a second coat of EX-P or going with Liquid Souveran. I like the look of LS a little better on this color (beige metallic), but the EX-P seems a little more durable. I'll probably end the process by topping with Natty's in 2-3 weeks.

The garage queen Porsche is already done. It has an odd combination of products on it, but it looks really good. It's running SSR1, VM, EX-P, UPP, EX-P, S100, and TS. Talk about overkill. :nono

I have yet to start working on the BMW.

Very good awd330. As you probably know my "winterization" is strictly a sealant topper. How do you like your "strange" combo? What about the FMJ?

I know what you mean..I'm up in New England..with a black car....shhhheeeeesh.
Last week, she got a good wash...another prep with VM and then Collonite 476 on the body and Liquid Insulator on the rims.
She looks pretty darned good..and when it rains eveything just rolls off as soon as I even move her. I'll try and get another coat of Collonite this weekend and she'll have her full winter coat.

I'm hoping to get the winterization process done one of these days. I might just have to take a day off of work to get find the time. I've had too many outdoor projects to handle, so the vehicles have taken second place.

My car gets SSR2 with a polishing pad, Pro Polish and then a few layers of Zaino. I've decided to start using up all of my old supplies before I buy new stuff.

The wife's Envoy will be getting a few layers of UPP. I've got one on there now, but will be adding more soon.

The snowblower gets a the AIO/SG combo on the metal and CK tire treatment on the plastic.

That reminds me, I just got a new snowblower. I'll have to add that to my winterization product list!

Rabbi - The odd combo on the Porsche looks very glossy and deep, but I think it was really too many different products to preserve the true color of the paint. I'll strip it all off in the Spring and try something else. I've abandoned the FMJ for the winter. When I first applied FMJ, it reminded me of GW (mirror-like, bright, little depth). After a few days, the look changed and became more glossy with added depth. However, it still didn't give me the look that I was striving for. Plus, it seemed to result in a lot of dirty waterspotting which is not a good trait for a winter wax. I'm going to put it on the shelf for now, and try it again in the spring with some different base coats. This time around, I just tried it on a couple panels with FTG and UPC base coats.

2 coats of Collonite 476 will survive a New England winter?

rabbi: Collinite #476s is supposed to be detergent proof. Just for the HOI, I washed a small part of my hood with Dawn & waited for it to rain. It's raining a fine mist today (promotes easy beading) & I don't see any difference 'cause it's beading like crazy everywhere.

I did 3 layers FMJ & 3 layers #476s and I expect it to last with nothing other than frequent visits to the touchless wand-wash & an occassional hand-wash when the weather allows.

I'm in Western New York, north of Buffalo .... you wanna talk about snow & salt?

Last year I put several coats(18/23 on mine 15/18 on my wife's) of UPP on my cars. Besides trying to protect my cars I loved the look.
