To try DuraGloss, I need?????

There is no way you can go wrong with any Duragloss products. That's not just my opinion . It's a product that has to be tried to be appreciated, Mike

Probably not.
I'm beginning to feel like I have been caught up in a Zaino commercial with DuraGloss having been substituted for the Zaino.
Chances are the DuraGloss is a fine product, (as is Zaino), and if I'm happy with it, I'll continue to use it, but without much fanfare. :)
I've been pretty happy with several products in the recent past. Klasse AIO, S100 Carnauba, 4 Star UPP, Collinite Insulator Wax and never did much picture posting or made many comments about how great I thought any of them were.
That probably isn't likely to change.
Heck, I was happy with Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Protection for years. I did put some 3M Showcar Paste Wax over it at times, but I didn't tell anyone about it. Not only didn't show any pictures, I didn't take any pictures.

I see a lot of pictures not on just this forum but the others as well. I never thought of them as a commercial I think that some have cars that they are proud of.
I was perfectly happy with what I was using also and if it had not been for
Al-53 and his posts about his results with DG along with the picture of his truck I would still be using my old product.
I'm glad that AL posted the pictures I benefited from them..
If my enthusiasm for DG sounds like a ZAINO commercial then I'm sorry. I will stop posting because it matters none to me what people use. I just was so impressed with the results that i wanted others to know about it. I hope that others do continue to post pictures because that is what is good about this forum is you can benefit from others experiences.

CharlesW, The whole idea of boards like this is for people to share there thoughts, findings , methods , problems found or solved and results of products they have tried. Showing pictures is what many people want to see and reading about the good ,bad and ugly of a product helps many of us with our decisions and that comes in handy to those of us who can't afford to buy all the products out there only to find that they don't last or do not do what they claim too.
So to all who share that info, bring on the pics along with your honest suggestions and results found, I for one , appreciated it and have done the same with Duragloss products because I was so impressed with that I wanted to share my findings with others. If I didn't like it I would have shared that info along with the reasons also, Mike

Al, Thanks, Good to see your still here along with Black Bart and others. I had some health problems( Heart and Stomach) and spent some time in the hospital and some time just laying around. Hope to Duragloss my truck again this week end, Lol. There are a few minor scratches to deal with first, Mike

My apologies to any that I have offended.
You all should just keep on doing whatever you feel comfortable doing. :)
Thanks again for all the help and information. I'm still looking forward to trying the DuraGloss products.

Charles

Charlie, Really don't believe you offended anyone and I for one sure never took any offense to what you said. You were stating the way you feel about the hype and that's fine. Your supposed to do that as long as it's done in a tactful way and I believe that's just the way you did it.
I should have been more tactful and pointed out that this is the "review" section of this site so that's just what people want to do and see.
Let us know how the Duragloss works for you on your vehicles paint and any problems you have ...if any. Thanks, Mike

I had a weird experience today with the Duragloss FC&S. I went to a car show and it was really fogy when I got to the show and wiped the water off the car the fog was so bad that I could see little droplets of water forming on the surface. Since I had cut the FC&S with water before with satisfactory results I didn't think the fog would be a problem. But when I tried to use it I had one hell of a mess. It was streaking bad. I waited about one hour and the fog got a little better but was still coming down. I tried again and it was better but still streaking so I switched to Zymol QD and it worked under those conditions without a problem. Maybe something I done wrong but I tried waiting longer before wiping and tried wiping it off right away but could not keep from streaking. Last week in hot dry weather at the show it worked fine.
Anyway all is well that ends well and I won another trophy today.
I would like to hear from others using the FC&S if they have experienced this.
I still think the FC&S is a very good product but their seems to be some conditions where it is not a good choice. Luckily I had 5 different QD's with me so I just switched rather than continue fighting the streaks. Best time to experiment is at home. When at a show I only have a short time to get it looking perfect

Bart..maybe your cut and the dew made it to diluted....

FC&S I cut 20 oz FCS and 10 water in a 32oz sprayer...I tried other ratios ..but this worked the best...but I used when truck is nice and dry also...

AW I can cut 50/50..60/40 and it works like a champ...but again..on a dry paint..

next time keep a bottle of full strength just in case of situations like this..and congrats on the winning also...

Al

Congrats Bart! Sounds like you need to get out the hose some free week end and try different methods under different or less than perfect conditions.
I know that AW is supposed to work with a little water but I have always used it on a dry vehicle. Mike

The FC&S was full strength. That is why I thought it would be ok since I have used it at home with about 25 percent water cut and it worked but today what I had was full strength. It was about 60 degrees and fog so bad it was like a mist coming down. I think the combination of cool temp and extreme humidity was preventing the small amount of polymer in it from drying. I think Monday I will call DG and ask bill or jerry about this. I'm sure they know what was going on. I think in those conditions any polymer like NXT or Zaino would have done the same thing. I had a bottle of NXT in my arsenal of products that I had with me. I wish I had tried it to see.

Wait a minute i thought the AW was synthetic sealant  ,if so you where able to mix AW with water. Al one squirt non diluted goes a long way are you using by the gallons

I suspect that the extreme humidity caused the problem
Yea you are probably right. I would have liked to have done more experimenting under those conditions but I had a deadline to meet.
When they close the drive through judging you have to have your car judged before that time. Sometimes when you get in a hurry to get it ready then you will over look cleaning under the fenders or something and the judges will find it. That is why I usually go early I like to take my time and get it looking right.
