TL, Matrix, Maxima, C240, and yes, a G35 (huge pics). I'm off to Germany!

Hey everyone. Busy week last week; but now it's vacation time. Here they come!

First up, DG G35. Condition was good for the age and KM ('03, 50k km). Had to do a little wetsanding from a parking scuff, but otherwise it was straightfoward. Got a little arty with the pics at the owners request. :)

Next up, Mercedes C240. The owner is a detailer, but he's away at school so he doesn't have his gear. He let his dealer detail it and, well, you know what that means. Ceramiclear paint, so it was a long struggle, but it got sorted in the end. Luckily the marring wasn't deep, just a lot of it. Almost as if the dealer dry buffed it.

Sorry about the lack of "glamour shots", but it was raining out.

Nissan Maxima; referal from the NSX guys - the owners son parked under a tree and got sap all over the car. The owner then tried to remove the sap with a scrubbie. You know how that goes.

Sun was in and out and all over. Seems like the status quo lately. No good befores 'cept for a long scratch. Oh well.

Toyota Matrix XRS. Condition was moderate, the owner drove it across country so it had some rock chips and the like. Paint was really soft, so I attakced it by PC to get the marring out.

One more coming.

Saved the best for last. A, uhm, "neglected" TL. The oxidation on this thing was epic for it's age, marring was, well, bad. Wool pad came out. I was going to use a yellow but there was just too much deep marring.

Prime Strong/white via PC to remove oxidation.

The shot of the hood does a decent job of showing some of the oxidation, it was really hard. Believe it or not in that shot the entire hood had been buffed with Prime Strong, and the right side was after HTEC/wool.

All of them look amazing. Both your pics and Scott's pics of Werkstatt on light metallic look very similar, seems to have a "dipped in wet glass" look, very nice look for those colors, IMO. Great job. What year was the TL, btw?

Kevin: I've come to expect *nothing less* from you. I'm never disappointed...Kudos on the TL, she came out "like new".

How did you make it through this week?! I would've been itching to get over to my Euro Delivery! How many times are you hitting the ring? Have you been practicing on GT4 :D?

The TL is an '03, if I am not mistaken.

Sean. You have no idea. I am absolutely dreading the period between October 24th when I drop the car off and December when I pick it up. I plan on doing 5 laps at the ring, it's 16 euros a lap and it should take between 12-15 min depending on how aggressive I am (so about an hour total). I may head to Hockenheim too if my wife doesn't freak at the idea. :) And yes, GT Legends has been getting a lot of Nurmburg practice from me lately! :D

Kevin: I'm jealous! You best take some pics/vids for us :D.

Are you taking a quick detail kit over :lol?

Those are simply amazing before and after shots. All cars are looking fantastic. Especially the Acura TL. You brought so much life back into the car. Very impressed.

Excellent work......would not have expected anything else!

You are a TRUE professional.

I am buying a rotary this week.....trying to decide which one to get.....suggestions?

Once again, pristine details.

Yes! A couple mfs, some z7, z2pro, and z16. I am going to buy a bucket, wash it, apply z2 and z16, and thats' it. :)

Justin - I use the Makita, I've tried it and the Hitachi and Dewalt, the Makita is the heaviest of the three and I like that, some people don't. I also like the trigger, that's what turned me off the Metabo, though I know it's very popular too. I think it's just a matter of preference, they all seem very good.

Thanks. :)

Awesome work Kevin.

Its obvious that you are picking up a BMW as a Europian Delievery but which one (missed a thread I think)?

I test drove a 2006 330 and was very impressed, can only imagine what the 335 would be like.

Anyways, have fun and post some pics.

Hey Nik; I am picking up a 335i, I bought it from BMW Mississauga. Sparkling Graphite/black, sport, paddles, nav, ca, logic7. I skipped premium, I will probably do an aftermarket interior. I haven't posted much about it until now, so you didn't miss anything. Sean knew because he's over at g35driver.com watching me rant and rave about how excited I am. :)

How's your car hunt going, btw?

Awesome car and nice colour choice!

My car hunting, like yours, had a stop at BMW and it stayed there heh. I want to get a 335 (sedan or coupe) with Manual transmission and sports packing. I am trying my best to organize the funds and cheapest way about getting it. Seems like a Europian delievery bought in the US first, would be best if you have the money upfront.

The premium package is a waste of money, I agree but its a kick *** ride otherwise.

The problem with Euro delivery in the US is you need a valid US address, and you won't recieve your 4 years maintenance (not a big deal really). The problem with Canadian Euro delivery is you save nothing. :)

I think in terms of the cheapest way possible you're best bet is to wait until December, go in on a cold day, and try to negotiate up from invoice.

Werkstatt has a real 'look' of its own. Wet glass is a very good description. :)

Superb work as always, Picus. Terrific write-ups as well. I always look forward to your threads. :2thumbs:
