Tire Shine?

I just bought a new truck and want to get the best tire shine availible. What is the best tire shine on the market? What lasts? What stays shiny? How do you apply it to look the best?

Thanks!

I have tried numerous products and the best and longest lasting are generally water based gel's that you apply with a foam pad or some sort. Meguiars comes to mind.

That being said, I am waiting on my order for a product called Tuf-Shine. I will post my results after this weekend.

Welcome.

You can find more tire dressing information than you'll be able to process by using the search function.

This has been said many times and I will reiterate it.

Its all subjective, Me I like a low shine dark finish where as my dad likes them to shine as much as the paint.

then you have to take into acount durability etc etc

that being said I really like Zaino and Black Magic titanium Matte although im really interested in the Tuf-shine

My dad likes Armour all tire gell.

Give us somthing to base off of and then we can give you suggestions of what we like and ultimately you have to try them and find what you like.

I like a mild sheen which makes me use Black Magic Titanium Matte.

Armor All Tire Shine Gel in Orangeish bottle

Mequiars Gel in clear squeeze bottle.

This subject is very subjective. Everyone has a different taste. I like matte my brother likes shiny as the sun.

Browse through the click N brags and find out tires you think look good and find out what product was used on it.

But I will reiterate that this has been covered SOO many times. Search.

I like the shiny look myself. I just cannot find a good durable long lasting product. Thanks for the info.

It doesn't have the look I like but if you want shiny and durable this might be worth a look.

Otherwise, like EisenHulk mentioned, do a search and you'll find a ton of threads about this subject.

Interesting thread, and it brought one thing to my mind.

I always hate removing petroleum tire dressings from cars detailed by schmucks. What is your best method? I have had to clean many wheel wash mitts with dawn power dissolver to clean my mitts of that horrid petroleum sludge.

I always thought that Eagle One A2Z was my "magic bullet" tire cleaner the way it usually just rolls the grime and brown gunk off. That is until EisenHulk and I did a couple of cars a week or two back.

I don't know what was used on these tires before we got to them, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was some form of a super bionic Cosmoline. Whatever it was should be sold to the military as an under seawater rust coating. It laughed at A2Z even with a stiff brush. Meg's APC didn't phase it nor did Dawn Direct. We just kept hitting them with different cleaners and a stiff brush until they finally came fairly clean. We considered Dawn Power Dissolver but were concerned because these were on some pretty rare wheels.

The next day Casey got the tires finished on the second car before I got there and he said they were horrible too. I think he threw everything we did at them before plus some Dawn Power Dissolver and brought out the pressure washer.

John isn't even joking about those tires....Craziest thing I've ever encountered.

It took two rounds of Dawn PD, two rounds of Dawn Direct Foam two rounds of Eagle One A2Z, one round of Megs APC, and finally one round of ARO. We ended up dressing them with Z16, and they looked great.

I never want to deal with tires like that again.
