Tire Cleaning

Both should work if your doing a lot of detailing I switch all my apc/degreasers to 3D nano drums super concentrates and they rinse ease and don’t irritate the lungs cleaning is good to. A lot of people like opti’s powerclean it’s good but expensive and leave a film sometimes
 
I had some really old tires come through that needed 5 rounds of cleaning with Tuff Shine to get to white foam.

I asked for alternative products and someone suggested Superior White Wall 1000 straight (supposed to be diluted 1:1).

I did another car with trashed tires and did a quick comparison. The superior product at 1:1 got more browning out of the tire quicker than Tuff Shine.

Using it straight would likely get the job done quicker and it`s pretty cheap at $11 a gallon local pickup at O`Reilly`s.

Just a warning the bottle says it causes cancer. I did not dig deeper into what suspect chemical is the culprit. Wear ppf when using it.

Tuff Shine has no info about what`s inside so it may not be any better.

For everything else degreaser/APC I mostly use 3D products.

Thanks for bringing that up, I`ve never seen an MSDS for Tuf Shine, not sure if I have actually tried to get one, but I have wondered as well if there is anything to worry about in there.

True story--I just ordered something at work that was "aqueous" and "biodegradable", which it said at the top of the bottle above the product name, then below it says "Danger: Eye and skin irritant. Harmful or fatal if swallowed." You can`t make this stuff up, I guess maybe it`s biodegradable after it kills you.
 
I always understood biodegradable only to mean that eventually the product will eventually stop being the chemical and will revert back to the parts that make up the sum.

Not that it is safe. Just better for the environment.

I find 303 Tire & Rubber to be a little more efficient than TufShine. At least with a drill brush to clean for a tire coating.

Ine less round.

Wow, remind me to never buy that stuff.. :) I`m thinking after it kills the person, they now are perhaps "more" biodegradable ?? :)

Another vote for Tuff-Shine... Been using it for what - almost 10 years, since it came out??
Never hurt any tires, always allowed their clear coat to go on easily and stay there for years too..
Love never to have to really work on the tires anymore, just wash with some remaining car wash soap after the vehicle is done..

Shine supply wise guy is absolutely amazing. Was a tuff shine user for years, and it is a great product, but I give the edge to wise guy.
 
I have been using tuf shine for some time now. I rarely use it these days as there is no need to. An APC in between tire dressing applications is all that is needed. Sometimes even car shampoo and a soft brush will get the job done especially with a tire coating.
 
Tuf Shine is also my go-to but pretty difficult to get in the UK. Found nothing that comes close to the cleaning power. I use AutoGlanz Rebound as a maintenance cleaner which is excellent, but it is hard to beat Tuf Shine for efficiency.
