Hey autopia, was recommended to come here and join from Lee Berbs tinting in Kenilworth Nj. Said this place was full of nice people and information.

A little about me, My name is Dj. I am 24 years old. I have always been a huge fan of detailing but never have learned the craft. I have a 2011 WRX , and unfortunately i have not been taking care of it as i should . Lots of bug marks, rough, dirty, and swirl marked paint. I know i have alot of reading to do, but i want to nip this bad trend before its to late. Im hoping i can find a beginners starter kit to buy and work from there. The car is a year old, and was only detailed when i first brought it home, then sometime a few months ago by the guys at my dealer. I really don't feel they did anything but rinse it off and do some quick waxing. I'de like to really understand detailing and dedicate some saturdays doing it on my car. Would definetly also bring a nice bond between me and the car :).

Hoping to join the community and see all the work you guys do, and hopefully start doing my own. Thanks in advance for the oppotunities.

Hi DJ :wavey :welcome:

I'm from Jersey but live down in here in Florida now. Autopia is the *premier* website for detailing so what ever you want to ask will be answered here and you can learn whatever you want right here.

Welcome and enjoy your stay here. :bigups

Where were you in jersey? And yeah i am hoping to learn quite a bit. Was already checking out the store to see if they had a beginners kit :)

I was in Central Jersey and down the Shore. One really good local detail supply store I used to go to is PAL Automotive in Piscataway.

Welcome, DJ!

Humm, from what we have all seen on the Thursday night chat from a "Jersey" guy, Timid and New Jersey don't really go together.

Welcome. Never Been to New Jersey but I was trained by someone who was to ask "What Exit?"

Haha, that is true. People know Jersey by parkway exits.
